Paladin Twilight felt a small iota of the powers keeping him put release and he could speak. Which at first did him little good. The. . .thing. . .before him was not to be bargained with or even reasoned with. It was like fungal infection trying to reason with it's overlander host. Even as a trusted vanguard and warrior of light the mere thought of Chronus talking to ANYONE let alone him was like the overlander chatting with the fungus. In Syth's past he could only recall his Father comment on Chronus once or twice and both times was followed by a shudder. And anything that could give Death himself pause was worth careful consideration. The normally conversationally brash hero cleared his throat in a neck that would not tilt one way or the other and addressed the creature of the higher planes with as much dignity as one that's bound can.
"I will do as you ask on two conditions: the first being that I am not to betray any of my friends and collegues no matter how important. The second, no ill may fall against one Cici Tomicat. Aside from that, I am yours, milord."
With that Twilight closed his eyes and awaited the higher being to respond. If this was some sort of test of the light he hoped he'd past, and even if Syntaru had found away into the Chaos Realm he wouldn't work for the horned bastard ever again and certainly not at the risk of injuring his kin. Still blown away that Time Himself was before him the normally sombre deathog remained humble. _______________________________________________
Lucain was certainly faring better, other than the odd bit of volcanic dust raining down on to the small cave that Aphophis, Duro, and himself were currently waiting to be rescued the vampire had nothing to complain about. Evidently Duro had spotted the 'broken' transmitter and repaired it enough to allow the Boss to contact them.
But even the thought of being freed from his stoney prison and feeding again, which he hadn't done in a good long while, another thought occupied the rotten mind of the bloodsucker. The gem shard, so enthralling in it's desecrated suduction, kept leaping to the forefront of the dead overlander's psyche. Right away he knew to be cautious: anything both powerful and evil had a general policy to be omni-destructive towards ANYTHING wether you forwards it's purpose or not. After all, he was the same way, biting the hand that feeds is a prime principal of being a carnivorous creature. Turning his bent and largely useless broken rapier over and over in his hands the villain had a stroke of genius. A stroke interupted by the wall exploding in toward the immobilized lizard.
What came through looked like a demented cross between a bear trap and an egg carton all wrapped in chrome and response lights. Anything that tacky had to belong to Eggman.
"Durro, what in the name of the darkness is that monstrocity." "The Eggscevator of course!" "Of course."
With Durro bonded with Apophis once more and Lucian riding in tow, his prized shard wraped up in his cape the pair made their way to the surface and their awaiting master. ____________________________________________
Mainwhile; deep in the heart of Robotropolis increasing reports of a large deformed creature lurking the desolate and robotless alleyways of the occupied city. Such odd tales would often be written off as paranoia or idle minds wondering when the other shoe will finally drop and forgotten entirely. That is, if it wasn't for the fact that 3 patrols had gone missing. The only thing being heard on their communicoms being a great deal of screaming followed by growling and the gurgling of someone trying to yell with blood in their throat.
Everytime a warparty would be sent out and everytime the only thing the mortals would find is a great deal of splattered gore, broken machines, and no bodies.
Never any bodies. . . . .
Gone, like dust in the wind, never to be found or unearthed. Something was prowling the Robotroplis walkways eatting it's way through Legion's troops each night, and appeared to have only increased in appetite with no sign of an end in sight.

A broken soul, a shattered light A warrior dishonored within the fight A pain and sorrow that grows ever deep A turmoul that will never sleep
There he stood, charcoal cloak flapping in the arid wind, where it all began. The ruins, the light he first felt so many months ago. There, he pledged his ability to the Goddess of Light herself protect the world of Mobius and fight against the evil known as Syntaru...and yet, he ended up running, afraid of the outcome, afraid that instead of saving the world, he would end up destroying it due to the weakness of his soul, his fear of the very light consuming him and those who trusted him...In fear that he would let them down...and in the end, he let them down more than any warrior could. He turned towards cowardice, ran from his one strength, his gift, his curse, and became blind to the world again, the world of light that he should have fought for...They were right to banish him from the island in the sky...he should be banished from Mobius itself for his actions...Why...WHY...
Fist clenching, it snaked out of the robes, smashing into the wall that had helped him find his former place, the place he stood where it all began. He felt the wall crumble away from his fist, the sound reaching his ears. It bared no satisfaction. All it did was increase his anger towards himself. Why...WHY WAS HE SO AFRAID OF THE LIGHT?!
((Leaving this open for two reasons: Anyone who wants find the echidna and either talk or fight with him, and because I need to get some sleep. If nobody replies to it, O well. I'll just continue his pain later))

Tayuu had finished his exercises and stood up straight on the edge of the casino rooftop. He flexed his gloved hands together causing an audible cracking could be heard from his finger bones; “Right then.” He took a flying leap from the edge and curled up into a ball before bouncing off a large round pinball bumper that was suspended in the air by a metal beam connected to the outside wall. With a ‘boing’ sound, this hurled him high into the air and as he began to fall again, he stuck both his hands out, grasping tightly onto a piece of scaffold from across the street. He swung full circle around the slightly off horizontal pole for a few seconds as he timed his next move. Releasing his grip, he flew alongside the structure before using his foot to kick-off against a wall and causing him to dive down toward the side of a building further down the street. Waiting to break his fall was the trusty and flexible, red and white striped ‘balcony/window shade thingy’ that Tayuu never new the true name of. As he bounced off of that, he did a few twirls in the air (just to show off) and then landed perfectly on top of a lamppost. Using his right foot to kick-off, he leapt the distance between where he stood and the next lamppost. Obviously losing height, he’d cling onto the pole and use his hands and feet to flip himself up onto the top before jumping towards the next one. After six of these had been cleared, he clung to the seventh one and then slid around and down it like a fireman’s pole, reaching the bottom and putting his arms up into the air; “Ta daahh!” There was no one who had been watching to give him any applause, as it was early the market had only recently been set up and opened, the few people walking by simply ignored him. Tayuu sighed and took a step forward, instantly tripping over his own tail and crashing to the hard ground face-first; “Owwwww!” He wondered if that was for trying to show off. Getting up and dusting himself off he looked around, most of the city-folk seemed so self-absorbed as always, and that made his ability to pickpocket so much easier. His first objective was to get some food, the newly erected apple-stand being his first target in mind.

Chronus looked at Paladin, a twinge of ire at the requests this lesser being had made. But he could not help but respect his resolve. To make such a stand against the be all and end all was astonishing to say the least. He scratched the beard at his chin a moment and then nodded his head.
"Very well, I give you my solemn word that no harm will befall your comrades through the actions you will be performing here for me." said Chronus, snapping his fingers "Now, put the Celestial Glaves back on.. I need you to arrange a set of stars in a particular pattern, and as well, re-align a comet headed towards Mobius' neighboring red planet.. and aim it towards Mobius' satellite instead.. I of course could do all this myself.. but I'd rather it were in Vanguard hands.. the purpose of this will be explained when next we meet."
Why the God of Time would ask a Vanguard to do a task he could easily do in half a breath, none can be quite sure. But the fact remains that Chronus asked, and Paladin was beckonned to comply. Back down on Mobius, the team of Swatbots sent to collect Lucian and Apophis had exhumed them from the rocky tomb.
"Swat No. 2271 calling Dr. Eggman. We have made contact with Project 2501, codename Apophis, and the Vampire Lucian. They are both in relatively good condition.. what are your orders?" said the Swatbot
The transmission streaming through space up to the Command Fortress orbiting Mobius. Eggman switched on the monitor and took the call.
"Eggsellent, secure the recovery for transport and bring them to the fortress immidiately." barked Eggman
The Swatbot saluted and carried out his orders. Shuffling the vampire and the massive robotic dragon onboard the cargo shuttle. Moments later, it rose into the sky and began its ascent into space. It would not be long until it reached its destination, where the good Doctor would be waiting.

Myst and her employer's team headed out across the frozen lands. Though today's weather was fair, it was still quite chilled. They trekked on for roughly 20 minutes when Myst stumbled upon something strange in the distance. It was dark in color, solitary and unmoving. She signaled the team to stay back while she investigated.
Upon getting closer to the strange object, she discovered that it was a sleeping bag. Typical make of that explorers used to traverse these harsh terains. She knelt in the soft snow and poked the sleeping back with her finger.
"Excuse me.. uhm.. sir or madame.. this is no place to drop and take a rest.. hello?"
She waited, hoping for a response of some kind, she'd be terribley saddened if this were the remains of a fallen traveller. Regardless, her words were true, this was no place to simply lie down and take a nap. This terrain was fiercely guarded by the Bear Clan. Savage warriors of the Ice Cap Zone. She knew, that not too far from where she stood, there was probably one or more of their scouts eyeing the going's on.

"Traitor!"
"Murderer!"
"He needs to be executed for what he's done!"
"Yeah!"
"Damn right!"
"I say we hang 'em!"
"No, let's stone the jealous bastard!"
"Draw 'em and quarter 'em! That'll teach the bastard a lesson!"
The incessant cries of his fellow villagers called for his death knell. Anger swelled up inside the hedgehog, as he felt betrayed yet afraid of the outcome of this situation. People began to throw anything they could find at him and he found himself drawing his katana reflexively to block the projectiles.
"The son of a bitch is going to try and kill us too!" one of his fellow villagers cried, drawing his katana and lunging. Taken by surprise, the young hedgehog didn't have the time to react as the katana slashed at him, tearing through the flesh of his face. Crying out in pain, he clutched at his wound. Anger and agony building inside of him, he lashed out in fury at his attacker, gouging him deep in the abdomen, spilling his blood on the ground, just as another man attacked from the side.
"Damn you to hell, you traitorous bastard!" he screamed out, nearly tearing out of his sleeping bag and drawing his katana, swinging blindly at his "attacker".
It then hit him that he had been dreaming, and that he had nearly attacked a young female hedgehog.
His grip on his sword loosened while his grip on reality tightened as he became aware of his surroundings.
"Oh..." the ronin finally blurted out after a moment of silence.
Although it had been quite a long time since he had spoken to anyone, his basic social skills slowly kicked in.
"I'm... I'm sorry to have troubled you..." he humbly apologized, resheathing his katana. Hanging his head his head in embarrassment, his face gradually turned a deep red as he blushed.

Meanwhile in the metropolis of evergreen city Sirens rang through the night as both police EDF and fire vehicals flew twords a burning skycraper that the Evergreen Defence force had allready cornered off Firehover craft were at work dousing the flames whilethe EDf had to contend with their own hovercraft being thrown back at them, Soon a large amoured van like hover craft landed into the buildings plaza. Out sped eight soldiers in power amour each possesing the latest in EDF's combat rifles with the grenade launcher attachment. The paldin m-203 assualt rifle. Behind them came out one vulpine, grey fur, he was also in power armor but had igsignia showing he was team leader. He walked past his troops and walked up to the police cheif who had set up behind the barrier, while he signaled for his team to spred out and help the police as another bout of gunfire erupted. The fox took off his helmet as he crouched next to the cheif. he glanced to the tall tiger and nodded."Allright cheif whats the sit rep." stealth barked out with a frown glancing at the incomming gang members who all had zombie looks on their face as they engaged the EDF hunter team and the local police.
The cheif shook his head and frowned. "We got a class A psychic up their sarge. Hes from the Templars of the all seeing eye, a quasi psychic religus cult/terorist orginization that demand that psychics are the true rulers of mobius. Hes up on the top floor with 50 hostages demanding that we hand over the city to the templers! He has some legion tech device that up his powers tremendusly. Also he has mind dominated three of the most dangerous gangs in the city! and the icing on the cake everso often he will toss our own cars at us, and he wont do any negotiaitons. If we dont give him the city he will kill the hostages, blow up the buildings, and kill even more people!"
Stealth looked away and spat on the ground in disgust."Freakin paranormals, thinkin they got some kind of psychgic, magic or ki based gift they can rule over us likje those no good gods!"he spat as he clenched his fists at the thought of gods, oh how his faith worsened and nopw hatred welled up in him over the gods, all they did was make his life even worse. He looked back at the cheif and frowned. "Dont worry cheif thats why they sent in hunter team delta, we will take care or that paranormal scum."he said with a smirk. The police cheif gave him a confused look."But your stealth greyblade one of the syntaru conflict heros, arnt you a paranormal now?" Stealth only gave him a bitter glance before getting up, and signaling for his team to get together for a small meeting
Simon fornwed as he typed on the keyboard. the words OPERATION CHAOS STAR were on the screen above a picture of some sort of satalite based weapon. "My lord..."he begna doing his best not to cringe as simon gave him that legendary crimson and poison green stare. I came to report that patrol 3pheta has gone missing."he said as he stood at atention.
"thats the 15th patrol we lost since we took over the city.....ever sicne...that thing escaped.."the wolf said as he went back to his typing "Yes mylord....my men are at a loss and i dont want to risk elietes either and its been ripping up centurions too." Felis said with a frown as legion chuckled."Class 1 centuions....... yes......Its time for her to have a little fun I think...yes. (ooc- being back home is so hectic... but good... will probably be less crazy starting tomorrow)
CC snuggled into the blankets that have been telekinetically wrapped closer about her and sighs into her coffee, taking another sip before answering Amon, "Sounds like a plan, I certainly do not relish going shopping and I am sure that you can get it done a lot faster than I could! Besides, that whole shower idea sounds like a good idea!"
She yawns again and scratches behind her right ear, eyes closing for that moment, "heh, showing you my home town... aiya." She leans over and kisses him lightly on the shoulder before getting up and taking the rest of her coffee into the washroom so that she may shower, blowing a kiss towards Amon before entering fully.
As calm as the morning was, the walls of the apartment blocking out many of the sounds of the never-sleeping city, CC could not help but feel strange inside. A shower would be good to help clear her mind, that much she knew, but the prospect of showing Amon around the parts of town that she knew was something that put a lump in her throat. The circuit, the alleys, the endless nights spent taking care of herself and the bruises that she had managed to get from the fights, the few friends she had left who could very well not even be alive now, life never being a too certain thing in the rougher parts of town that she had lived. Of course, on the other paw, something in the feline, her rampant curiousity, gave her some sense of excitement in regards to returning to it all, and to show her lovely hedgehog a little of who she was back here and what her life was like.
__
Somewhere in amongst the quiet and rubble left over from the chaos and fighting that had gone on not so long ago two eerie red orbs of light shone into the darkness, looking around tentatively but with an anger burning behind them like nothing ever seen before. They seem to grow smaller for a few brief moments before disappearing entirely once more into the inky blackness.

(OOC: MULTI-CHARACTER POST LIMIT BREAK!)
It was hungry, it was always hungry.
Poor Thomas wasn't even aware of what he was doing anymore. Which considering the poor 14 year olds psyche and general aversion to blood this was a good thing. As much as a purely instinctual monster bent on consuming as much flesh and blood as possible to no particular end or goal other than to survive another day and do it all again ever really is.
It had only been a week since Tom had reverted from his engorged form when he had poked one of the solar bars in his subteranian prison. Legion had worked long and hard to contain the beast after having captured it from Lucian's private quarters. Reports were still coming in detailing the damage to the block and surrounding fixtures. Such a prized undead specimen had been a hidden jewel in Robotropolis, a second generation vampire, even a hastily made one was a treasure indeed to the dead obsessed Bloodclaw, and it was much to his ire that Tommy had escaped before his scientists could cut the rabbit up into studible materials.
Even now, the seemingly mindless creature was hopping from roof top to roof top. The seemingly frail form of a withered bunny unnervingly accurate in his dead leaps from one precipice to another. Never looking the way he was going, never worrying about falling or hitting something. If it was in Tommy's way, it was destroyed be it robot, guard, or your every day wall. He moved quickly and quiety, such as creatures of death do, and in the dark of night even the commandeered Robotnik surveylance equipment had a hard time tracking the creature. It hadn't worked on a speedy blue hedgehog, it certainly wouldn't work on an undead enchanced creature of darkness.
As the moon reached it's zenith a gutteral growl escaped the lips of the rabid rabbit. Hunching low, doubled over in what can only be described as unimaginable pain the once living lad tore at his pale blue fur with a furry unlike any other. A rippling of muscles beneath flesh, the bones cracking apart and growing volumous. Organs necessary for unlife, the heart, the skin, the muscles all growing and warping in gruesome contortions of macabre might. When it was finished blood red tears spilled down the altered youths face though if he knew that, it certainly didn't show.
Freshly grown claws complete with toothy maw snapped and clicked in the bright moon light. The customary red eyes of the lower class damned stared out over the digital night and not for the first time Tommy looked for prey. He found it not long after, a small patrol of scouts returning from the field. Scouts that had not read their recent debriefing materials about traveling the city at night with out armed escort. They had survived the Heavy Valley Zone, they thought they could take anyone.
A pity they were up against an anything instead. _______________________________________________
In a flash it was all over for Paladin Twilight.
No binding power, no overwhelming force, no deadly old man in his place of power. Just the quiet of the room and the slow ticking of the cosmos of the pool. Shaken, and sweating badly, a throw back of his Reaper days, the youngest vanguard redonned his Gloves and went to work. The images and patterns Chronus had explained were burned into his mind. But then again, most divine decrees.
Only as an afterthought he realized he should have asked about the where abouts of the Lady Aurora or even the vile Syntaru. Certainly the Keeper of Time knew where they were and what they were up to, and knowing that it was with a great deal of apprehension that he went about his work. The Old Man knew something, and was acting on that information, even if he wasn't telling those he was using to do it.
And why was it that it was required of a vanguard to do this bit of work? Certainly a being like Chronus needed no help from a lowly being as Paladin Twilight? Mind a buzz with more questions than answers the deathog continued to toil over the universe, and sincerly wondered if things were truely over in the battle of good and evil. . . . _____________________________________________
The transport took a while but the view was rather nice. Not every dark overlord got to see in such stunning contrast their future personal graveyard. Reachig the stratosphere was taking longer than Lucian would have liked and while he had no say in the matter it didn't mean that he was liking the idea of going into orbit so soon after being freed from another kind of enclosed space.
Especially after a certain promise from a certain scientist that if anything happened to Apophis Lucian would find himself jettisoned into space with no hope in Hell of suriving. Then again, Eggman had opted to lift them up on the darkside of the planet where the space station made it's stationary orbit in Mobian Sky. So perhaps bar-b-qued undead wasn't on the menu tonight. The good Doctor was a tough man, er, machine to read even at the best of times.
Smoothing out a bit of scuff from his prized brown fur hat, Lucian idly stroked it shiny smooth texture as he waited for his interview with the up-till-now missing mechanical mastermind of Mobius. ___________________________________________________
Always with the grunt work. . . .
But then again, having 'lived' his 'life' as a form of sentient magic Shade wasn't unaccustomed to running ahead into dangers path and doing recon work. With some one as dangerous as the Shadow Queen unaccounted for he had been more than willing to scout out the most hellacious part of Mobius. No longer bonded to Syth he felt that he should do his best to move on with his new found freedom of movement and being. Besides, of all the heroes he was most suited to exploring the sometimes searing crags and tiny crevices that the Hot Crater Zone had to offer.
He needed no food, no water, just a bit of rest at night to recharge the darkness with in that fueled his quasi-existance. For while it was true that he indeed was free to do as his will decreed he hadn't had free will long enough to determain what he wanted in 'life' yet. Springing into a rather deep hole the living shadow found a recently excivated cavern. Something large had been stored here and something almost as large and mechanical had recently dug it out. Following the gently sloping tunnel till it stopped he found a smaller off shoot that looked like it had been chipped away with a long and pointy object. As if a warrior had been burried alive and he had tried to dig his way back out through solid stone.
That passage deadended suddenly and other than an uncharacteristic hollow in the wall where something might have been burried it was uneventful. A small red spec of some kind of crystal caught his all black eye though, and he bent to pick it up. In a flash of red it disapeared, either reacting poorly to the living magics being or pehaps his goodly bent. Despite the reason, Shade's senses recieved a serious shock, and something quite akin to pain coarsed through his body.
Gathering his wits and deciding to take extra special care not to run into any more of that vile crystal the scouting shadow realized for the first time that he was being watched. Not directly because there were no eyes any where with which to seem him. But burried there beneath tons of volcanic rock and flowing magma, the tunnel alone a sweltering 125 degrees the unfeeling shadow could only shivver. The eyes felt familar but muddled, as if they came from two different sources, both dangerous and both hostile.
Convinced that he query was nearby or at least had been in the recent past Shade made his way deeper into the rock and the crags. Tala was down here some where and he was bound to find her, eventually.

Myst collected herself, narrowly missing the swipe of the stranger's blade.
"I'm fine, it was no trouble.. but as I said, this is no place for one to stop and take a nap. The Great Bear Clan hold this territory in fierce regard as their own. You'd be safer if you came with us, we are en route to the ports to gather supplies and then trekking back to Polar Central, the only real city in this zone."
She eyed the stranger up and down, he looked battered, distraught, like he'd been wandering the frozen lands for days. She calmly awaited hsi response, keeping an ear open for any hostile Bear Clan members in the area.

"Shuttle A-1A docking at airlock 17G. All required personael please report to defensive stations."
The cold computerized voice echoed through the steel interior of the flying fortress. The sounds of metal clanging against metal in alternating beats was all that could be heard afterward. SwatBots and CommandBots marching to their appointed destinations. The long tails at the back of Eggman's coat flapping behind him as he walked the long halls, heading to the airlock. Lucian's transport had arrived, along with the mighty dragon Apophis in tow.
The automatic doors opened, and a few moments after entering the room, the shuttle cleared the airlok and landed in the bay. Eggman tapped his foot, waiting for the hatch to open and Lucian to be escorted out. In a hiss of air and pressure being released, the buzz of the engines cooling down. A pair of SwatBots walked Lucian off the ship and into the open area of the hangar bay. Eggman walked up, very sternly, his brow pointed down, cold robotic eyes staring forward. His foot begining to tap again. It was a chilling silence as the metallic emperor stood there, waiting to speak.
"Lucian" Eggman finally said. "I told you what would happen if anything befell my dear Apophis.. however.. considering the circumstances, it was beyond your conrtol. Which is why I am granting you a reprieve.. Swats, escort heir Lucian to his new quarters, I'll fetch him when the time comes. Right now, I want to personally oversee the full diagnostical and physical examination of Apophis."
With that, the two robotic soldiers walked the space-worn vampire to a small 6 by 6 room. Where he was left to his own devices until Eggman called for him. A team of WorkerBots hauled the dinged and roughed shell of Apophis into the mechanilab. It seemed business as usual for Eggman.. but time can only tell what his ture plans are.

A sickening thud echoed in the commons room of the local tavern as the undead head was set none too gingerly upon a humble looking table. There was a large-set cougar with a jet black mustache that curled at the ends, his arms were crossed and his apron bloody. He did not seem to mind, this man, as he sat his arse down in that chair without the least bit remorse as to what the housekeeper might think. Andre was in the adjacent chair, a cackling fireplace inbetween the two. Natasha stood behind Andre's chair waiting patiently when the butcher spoke. "It seems proof enough..." He mumbled somewhat throatily, still a bit wary of the rather large blade this rather large man carried around. All the ex-shadow walker could do was nod; this had better end quickly. Still, the cougar was hesitant to trust a man who he'd ask to go out and slay a zombie not five minutes ago. Who exactly was this guy?
"Loooo-oook pal..." Evensgale started, walking up and around to pat the smaller-than-him creature on the shoulder as non-condesending as he could. "Why don't y'just pay us and we'll be on our merry ol' way? We don't even have to stay at the tavern if you don't want us! ... Win-win!" He finished, mistakenly. The cougarly butcher popped a vein, crossing his arms in silent rage. Not moments later did the tavern erupt in shouting and curses, two overlanders retreating from the ruckus as quickly as possible. "What a rip! We didn't even get--D'ah!" Natasha was cut off on his complaint as a hefty bag of gold socked him in the back of his head, knocking off his black hat and causing him to ram face first into the dirt.
A few hours later in what seemed to be an abandoned shack out in the woods, the two were resting inside as the rain outside was beating down mercilessly. The run-down place was musty and smelled of other-wordly things, a constant leak dripped down in just the right spot to annoy them past the void. While Demockstro slept steadily on his broken rocking chair, Natasha had cleared out a table to conduct his own little witching space. The vials of blood he had collected secretly with Andre's travel was growing quite large, it was going to be hard to conceal soon. He soon set to work on that little problem with an idea that had been sparked by the dirty diary he had found lying around. With a quill pen that he always kept with him, Natasha dabbed it into the still uncoagulated blood and began scribing over old worn out words that no one cared for anymore, ruining long lost memories with blood-stained madness.

Peace?

Absolute agony.
Fire so hot that it put to shame the fires of her past that once left her so scarred. Pieces of flesh melted and dripped away as the lava seared every bit of her broken body. Her blackened soul aching and tarnished, had he truly been defeated?
Did she black out?
The memories were vague. So unclear. So dark. But then again, everything had been dark for so very long, she was used to that. Comforted by it.
There was strength, something that itched inside of her even as the fiery waters attempted to swallow her whole, but she was too big for that hungry mouth, she would not go down without a fight she would keep trying. He could not be gone for a part of him still resided within Her, she could feel it building within her, growing stronger even as the pain numbed her mortal senses.
Did she die?
She told him that she would die for him.
Did she leave the mortal coil?
A shiny black clawed paw, almost indistinuishable from the darkness of the shadows around the creature tentatively touches its own flesh. It is hard and rubbery, spikes protruding from her forearms gleam, reflecting the red light of its eyes.
HER eyes.
She had survived, somehow.
No, that was not quite true... the paw goes to her chest but feels no heartbeat beneath. No fur to mark her as what she once once, her long ringed tail now long and serpentine. Leathery black wings enfold her and she stretches them out, only to find that she is entrapped within a small space, damp earth by the smell of it. Rubble from the battle perhaps? Anger begins to well up followed by frustration and a grand amout of energy that slowly builds and begins to force the rubble that had kept the creature buried and hidden from those who may have searched for her away. With a deep throaty growl and a huge spike of energy the rubble is thrown away, large rocks being hurled towards walls and shattering with the impact. The growl is followed by a scream, an scream of absolute pain and agony of one who has almost lost everything that one has ever known.
It echoes throughout the area and forces more rocks, already precariously perched, away from where they sit and they fall to the ground loudly, but none touch Her.
There is no pain, her leathery skin not even registering the scars that she once sported. With great suprise she finds the remains of a metallic arm, yes, she remembers this, she looks towards where it should have been, only to find a fully functioning arm there. The pain dissipates a bit and she begins to laugh, starting off a bit slowly and with a tinge of insanity to it, but soon that unsureness disappears and it is merely a full throated laugh of joy and amusement.
He was not gone, he lived on within her. His gifts to her came to completion, saving her from final death. She was still his Queen and she would see him back, there was no stopping her now.
Tala would not stop until he returned to this miserable planet.
