Myst stood on the outer shore of the island. She watched the Goddess fade away, the warriors rise up against the darkness, the song of our Lady ringing out through the air. But even in all this she did not lose hope, she did not lose her focus. She watched and waited.. but in her heart she felt a strong pull. A voice leading her towards the battles, telling her to help rather than watch. It's not about revenge, it's about the survival of her planet, her people, the way of life.. and the conquering of darkness.
Ugh.. what am I doing? I can't just stand here anymore.. I should be in the fray with them.. those heroes of the Lady.. yes.. the light needs all hands to flush out the darkness.. it's settled.
Myst opened her eyes again and dashed out to the small group of heroes who had not started fighting yet.
"Come on you guys, what are you waiting for.. together we can beat this Demon.. isn't that what the meerkat Vanguard said? So let's get to it!"
She knew she was going to get some strange looks, as she was a stranger amongst them, but she also knew they'd agree with her, the time to strike was now..

Paladin continued his song, with the demon growing more and more powerful, charging up some sort of all out attack the vanguard was more leery than ever. Whilst everyone else was busy fighting so far no one had noticed the eeiry glow start to encompass the mountain of the Demon. But Twilight did, whilst singing took up alot of his attention he didn't need his eyes to belt out that ancient tune. Syntaru was up to something, and what ever it was it wasn't good. Being so far along in his transformation the "scorched earth" option kept coming to the forefront of the youngest vanguards mind.
Meanwhile; Shade was having his own problems. True, he was a creature of darkness, a living spell in essence. But he had also claimed his sentience from both the Demon and Aurora herself. The physical and metaphysical intrusions of the Shadow Queen were repelled at first. Imagine some one tipping their fingers into your soul and stirring it about disturbing your whole being? This is what Shade felt and it rang a discordant tone through out his entire self. Memories warped and twisted, perceptions altered and bend as the haphazzard and hardly professional tinkerings of Tala scrambled the darkness alive's substance. Writhing too and fro the hold about the lemurs feet loosened, but the now chaotic ball of black was fidgeting and thrashing with abbandon. Tendrils of darkness with obsidian whisps lashed out in a malestrom of pain, confusion, and completely out of control!
The plan having worked against Shae, Augustus made his way over to the battle ground now that it had taken a more terran route. Hefting his hammer the no longer spry bat had a meeting with his maker. And not the one standing only a few feet away.
Whilst on the other side of the field as the other heroes charged off or were otherwise listening to Myst Lucian had grown impatient. If they weren't going to fight to save reality than he might as well stop by the "concession stand" and snag himself something to eat. Thunder, poor Thunder, always having been a loner from the start. Perhaps in some ways worse because he tried to get along by forcing others to do his bidding. Maybe that's why he decided to hang back and let the others spend themselves out on the Apostles whilst their king was only yards away. He knew better! He knew someone had to be fresh to take on that monster! That towering pillar of energy that he was so sure he could take on with his powers of electricity.
He thought he knew so much, was ready for anything. Sadly, anything includes a rather stealthy vampire. And in his dreams of valor to serve the Goddess in glory and fame instead of self-sacrafice and the good of all he never heard, could never have heard the deadly silent stalking steps of Lucian Ostrum come up behind him.

Kurenai was shocked when she found herself healed, feeling better than she was used to, and suddenly with the others once again, in front of the goddess. It took quite a while for everything to process for her, but, when the unknown white furred hedgehog came by, the dhole shook herself out of her daze. A small smile found her way on her face, as she popped her shoulders, and unclasped the end of her rope dart, allowing it to slide off of her neck, before she rolled it over her paw, ready to throw.
"Of course, we can do it. Just would be better to have more of a plan." Kuri said, running towards CC and the cyborg wolf she was fighting. Seeing the cat kick straight up at him, the dhole threw the dart part, keeping hold of the rope so it wouldn't overshoot the target.

Amon looked around, taking in all that had transpired, rationalizing and planning. Then, when the young ice-colored hedgehog came up, he knew what needed to be done. Using his telepathic powers, he called out to the mortal fighters who had rushed into battle.
Friends.. leave the Apostles to the Vanguards, we have a much greater task at our hands.. as the Goddess and Ishillar said, it is up to us, the chosen, to stop Syntaru.. his Apostles are of no consequence. Fall back and gather.. we must combine our strengths and strike the beast.. before he strikes us..
Spade looked over at Amon and nodded in agreement to the telepathic message. Master Rayne had rushed out into battle after Ishillar's command. He had been hanging back.. then he saw his moment to strike.. dodging the futile blasts of the Wolf that came his way, he scuddled quickly towards the canus lupus while his attention turned to the feline. With a strike of his staff followed by a strong bolt of Holy energy Rayne had entered the fray.

While she had not managed to obtain the result she had wished for, Tala had been able to create chaos within Shade's very being and it was certainly enough to satisfy the Shadow Queen for the time being. Of course, his eratic motions were dangerous to her as well so without a second thought she teleported out of range, ending up behind Andre who still stoof staring at the space where she had been mere moments before. The lemur did not hesitate for a second more than she needed to build up a large sum of energy, being fueled by her Dark Lord's ascension to the point where the power that she felt was near intoxicating, making her forget momentarily about the pain in her skull and the tiredness from a harsh battle already fought.
Without making a sound she sends the energy hurtling into the fallen apostles back, teleporting to an unknown location as soon as it leaves her paws.
___
CC had kicked hard and true, but refused to wait for the Wolf to reply in turn as she heard Amon's summons loud and clear within her mind. She could not and would not argue with his advice, nimbly she rolls forwards and springs upon her feet. Once standing she notices Kuri and smiles, glad to see the Dhole healthy and in the fighting spirit. The cat taps Kuri on the shoulder as she runs by, heading towards teh small group of heroes that was forming just outside the main battle between the vangaurds and the apostles. Within mere seconds, though it seems like ages, CC is once again by Amon's side - smiling cheerfully despite the chaos going on around her.
With a steely glint in her energetic eyes she looks around the small group and then towards the large, glowing form of the Demon. "Well, let's get this show on the road... I am feeling ready to kick some demon arse!"
She reaches out and strokes Amon's paw, the glint in her eyes being replaced by a softness for a moment, "I love you..." she murmurs, studying his gaze and his features, taking the brief moment that they have to enjoy just being in his presence. All too soon her gaze becomes serious and she turns her attention towards the matter at hand, still touching the psionic hedgehog but fearing that she may show a bit too much weakness if she continued gazing into her lover's eyes.

Stealth just sighed hanging from the demons hide via a sword of light, the demon hasnt noticed him yet after his futil attack, but then angain a weak mortal such as him was but an ant to the supercharged dark god. what real effect could he have agianst him anyway. the fox just sighed as he exstinguished his blade and begna to climp up the demons hide as it pulsed a feirce red light, he could only shiver in dread at what the demon could be upto with that strange light. Sudenly Amons voice came through his skull and he could only give an iritated growl. "WHAT DO YOU THINK IM DOING!"he called down to the others as he climbed up the demons back ridge. he could only growl and shake his hea as he continued his search for some sort of weak point in the god, he just prayed it wasnt what he thought it was.
simon let out a grunt at he felt a kick on the metal plate between his legs, he could only klet out a low growl, even if he saw the cat via the senosrs he had alcolated to track her, still it anoyed him for her to stoop to such a low attack, even if she did just dent steel armor, what did hurt was the impact from rayns staff as he let out a pained snarlas the holy energy flashed over him burring into his furr and leaving a charred mark on his armor. He only gasped and thanked all that was unholy his mechanical parts gave him a neutal element alignment or otherwise that holy bolt would have hurt much worse than it did. With a snarl of anger the wolf brought up his sword arm letting the dholes fiber wrap around the steel arm and he gave a strong jerk back tohimself hoping to catch the child off ballance while his other paw crackling with crimson energy simply was shoved in raynes direction as the wolf bolted forward closing the little gap quickly and fired it in nearly point blank range.

Demockstro had stood there enraptured by Paladin's song. For a moment or even more his ears took in a song of which he had never heard before, and found it gave strength to his rejuvinated heart. It wasn't long before this soon came to an end though, a searing heat suddenly devouring his bare back when Tala had launched her attack. An unmistakeable roar rumbled across the battleground as Andre was sent hurtleing through the air to land face-first into the blackened earth.
He had scraped far along the dirt, whatever skin that remained on his becoming scratched and liable to bleed. This did not stop the forsaken one, his hand coming down to support him to his feet once more. His sullen eye narrowed at the prospect of dying here, before he saw his vengeance become truth. Andre found it a bit hard to move with what felt like a sun-scorched back, but he had already found new strength within' Twilight's song. The giant's eye searched the battlefield for the Queen once more to sink his claws in.
Little known to even himself, the pupil of this one's single eye had gone and left him behind to leave only a remorseless whiteness.

The Song that inspired the Fighters of Good finally came to a cresendo and halted. It had done it's job and even Paladin himself felt a little lighter in his freshly healled but still battered frame. Magic of this varriety was still new to him but it seemed natural in this form, and the fact that he was further the cause the best he could only reinforced his strained muscles and aching bones to eventually jump down and meet the Shadow Queen head on, taking the Turncoat Demon's place. It seemed like a thousand years ago when in reality it had only been a fraction of an hour that they'd fought to a standstill.
Tala, seemingly still 'alive' and kicking after all that punishment was more than a little unsettling to the deathog. The ex-reaper had taken many souls and few opperated with as much furvor as the lass in front of him. Bleeding in a dozen places, bone broken but unattended, drained to the point of death, and yet her eyes still held zeal for her grim work ahead of her. Still filled with the utter hatred for the Vanguard before her. It was then that Twilight resigned himself to be loathed by the darkness for all eternity, only in the heat of battle did the yin and yang truely show their colors. Whilst he viewed her wounds in a strained form of sympathy she took his in as oppertunities and weakpoints, calculating the area she could strike for the most amount of pain. Thinking the screams of the vanguard to be a fitting tribute to her freshly risen God.
Shade, finally capable of holding a steady form again, began a stealthy advance on the distracted lemur. But the vangaurd, weaponless and more than a little tired shook his head in refusal. Confused only for a moment the living shadow bowed once and turn to join the other mortal heroes in their battle with the Beast. This would be a fair fight, one on one, no tricks just guile, strength and the last man standing alive being the winner.
As they squared off again, shaker, wearier, and more importantly angrier. The Shadow Queen and Judge of Souls readied themselves for battle. Paladin didn't know why but he felt that what he was doing was simply a stall tactic, the real battle would happen yards away as Syntaru readied his final blow.
Meanwhile; Augustus was having a bit of trouble pacing the flying and largely airborne Vanguards dealing with the traitor Shae. Something about mid-air battle always unnerved him, regardless of his deathless status or the fact that his species was never ment to fly. But eventually the bull caught up with his compatriots to find most of the things in hand. Readying his hammer for a throw, the mighty monk would not miss his mark this time. His goddess was wounded, presumably dead. And that weapon would cave in the head of this upstart usurper, so swore the Herald of Souls.
Not far away another hero was swearing as well, but not in a solem vow, more in an exclaimation of pain. He'd felt the cool breath with just a slight taint of death on his neck moments before the fangs pierced the flesh of his exposed neck. Thunder never had a chance. Slowly but surely the strength was failing in his legs, already Lucian had to hold him roughly by the arm to keep the creature of lightning from falling out of his bite by gravity's whim. As the world slowly began to darken the curtain on the would be heroes life fell, along with his throughly drained corpse.
The blood had the flavor of ozone, not perferable but it couldn't be called unsavory either. Being something of a gormand when it came to Red Life the Vampire mulled over the taste for a moment. After savoring the after flavor the strange brew had on his palate he'd desided that he'd had better. Thoughts started to roll through the blood suckers head, mostly about an oppertunity of joining the Dark Side or aiding the light for a 'Get out of Jail Free Card" later, but in the end decided neutrility was the best path to take. On a full stomach the vampire opted to watch the ensuing mayhem, from a safe distance, and enjoy the after effects of his meal.

Tala had taken the opportunity to teleport in front of the vangaurd she thought that she had destroyed. It frustrated her that he would be given new life and while there was no room for dount in her zealous mind there was a part of her that realized that even though he would not be at full strength he could prove to be better off than her, especially if the fallen demon and the other vangaurds realiyed where she was. She would have to move quickly, and so she did, using the short amount of time they took measuring eachother to gather the dark energy around her, creating a shield of sorts from any extra blows that may come that she would not be able to parry.
"I killed you once already vangaurd, and for wahtever reason you w ere seen fit to be brought back. No matter, I will destroy you again but this time I will be sure to crush every bone and destroy your very soul so that you can never again be a blight upon this world."
Her voice is calm but her eyes shine with hatred, with a primal scream she hurls bolt after bolt of shadow energy at the deathog - moving around so that she is never in the same place twice and not making the mistake of getting too close yet - she learn her lesson last time, the blood dry upon her forehead being a testament to that fact.

Amon tried not to chuckle at Stealth's predicament, instead, he teleported over, grabbed him, and teleported back. Upon returning, he looked to Ci Ci, holding her close and planting a soft tender kiss upon her forehead. "I love you too, dearest." He turned back around to face Stealth and the others.
"Stealth, our power is in our numbers.. it is together that we find the strength to defeat evil.. so I'm curious to know.. What was going through your head when you attacked him ON YOUR OWN? I understand your frustration and angst but really, that was careless."
Having scolded the wayward kitsune, he made a second check to ensure that all were present. Then he spied Kuri emmersed with Rayne and Naia against Legion. Amon sighed and teleported again, grabbing the dhole, and returning to the group.
"A templar's work is never done.. ~ahem~ now, all of us need to pool our abilities, we need to strike together, all of us moving as of one mind. Those of us who gained kenetic abilities in our training will take the forefront, we will draw the demon's attention and dirstract him from his current energy build up.. the rest of us.. while he's distracted will scale up the beast's back, he won't notice you.. not only because we don't give off a high energy, but because he will be focused on our diversion. Once you reach his shoulders wait for my signal, and when I give it.. strike your weapons into the gleaming jewel on his forhead, everybody understand their parts?"
While Amon was leading the charge of the mortals, Lord Rayne finally relaxed. With the two mortal fighters being drawn away from the Apostle, he could stop holding back. The bright red iguana threw his robe off and to the side. Standing in a traditional fighter's clothing, he readied his staff and with an astonishing speed he dashed outward and struck the wolf in an upward fashion, hitting him square in the law, knocking him back. And using that momentum, he lashed out repeated strikes with his staff, hitting the ribcage, the abdomen, the hips, the legs, the arms everywhere he could connect. But Rayne's age was getting to him, he had burned up quite a substancial ammount of energy earlier arranging the stars for this celestial battle. Even with the Goddess' endowed life-force flowing through the fighters, and Paladin's song, he was getting tired. He'd hoped Naia would make her move soon.

Stealth rolled his eyes at the display of affection, to him suych sappyness was a crutch on the battle feild. He sighed and finaly answered the hedgehog."Their wass no one else, I wanted to teach that lemur a lesson but as I charged at her some stupid unholy SOB jumped in front of me stripping me of that pleasure, so I did my best to keep from attacking the demon myself and went after syntaru, yeah my first attack was stupid didint even feel it he did. But I decided to go with a huinch and go after that jewel you were planning for anyway. But since you morons want to play buddy up, then lets just do it, either I die today or We finnish this crap, both are solid choices. So lets just get this over with."he sighed as he ignighted his blade.
Simon let loose a feral snarl as he concentrated more on the iguana the staff impacting and denting his metal armor cuasing him to shift strategies and go on the defnsive bringin up his blad and block blows left and right studing the lizard a slow smile grew on his muzzle as only his robtic eye followed the other vanguard scanning for any threatening moves, his other eye peered into the iguanans, the wolf could see the old fool becoming tired ,soon he would make a misteak and he would personaly bring the vanguard into perment rest for the weary.

There had been much going on, battles blazing as hot and dangerous as the hot molten lava in between the broken pieces of mountain. The heat of the area was forgotten amidst the heat of the moment but now that she had a moment to stand and wait, CC could feel the sweat dropping off her brow and mixing with her dirty black fur. She looked around the group, her feet constantly moving and her step light, not wanting to lose the energy of the moment and yet seeing the intelligence in the proposed plan of the psionic hedgehog. She could not suppress the grin on her face towards Stealth, the fox may be gruff and battle worn, but beneath it all he had a heart and one of gold at that. He wanted to fight just as badly as she did, he just showed it in a different way.
Amon, she sighed, his brief moment of tenderness had struck her as something important… there was more behind that simple moment than any, including herself, would ever be able to guess as intuitive as they may be.
The plan was sound enough and she nodded her agreement, “You can count on me to be a good distraction, no worries there. Hey, Greyblade, I bet you a tenner that I can keep him distracted better than you can… or are you going to go back to being a monkey and take the other route?”
She grins and winks at the fox and waits for his reply, pretty sure that she knew how to press all of the right buttons. Her paw still caresses Amon’s, wanting to touch as long as possible before having to continue on with the battle but knowing that the moment will not last much longer, all they needed was the ascent of the remainder of the mortal group before waging their own personal little war against the great God of Darkness. Bring it on

Naia hesitated a moment from her charge. But quickly snapping out of her daze she leapt into action, striking with her katana. The cold steel clanged against the armored appendages of the wolf, sending scrape sparks into the air.
"Sorry I'm late, Master Rayne, I had to make a game plan.. now what say we finish this MUTT!"
The agile panther jumped and flipped over the wolf, landing behind him. She charged up a rather heafty bolt of Holy energy and released it against the back of the wolfen apostle. Myst, however, was taking a very different approach, while she had some kenetic energies, she did not take the forefront with the psychic, the feline and the fox. Instead she went with the koalla and the dhole around the back of the demon. There, she waited for her signal to climb the mountainous beast known as Syntaru.
It's only a matter of time.. with this offensive and all of us working together.. he WILL FALL.
