Legion sanrled as he held up the damaged arm, his other hand freeing a thumb from his bald to hit a switch hiddend upon his armor, sudenly a shrill burst of high pitched noise shot out and then kept repeating. It was an SOS beacon. The wolf let out a cold laugh as he stared up at the vanguards a triumphant grin on his face even now."You know what seperates a brillant strategest from a foolish general? Do you?" he asked as the cluds silently departed above them as tthree basnshe fighters came down from the clouds ignored by the shadow wraiths, the beasts not making a singal squak as the dark craft decended, all the while the wolf held his oppents ateion."WELll do you? Ill tell you its simple. THEY KNOW THE VALUE OF RETREAT! FIRE!"he called out the last part into his suits intercom as all three banshees, the piloted ones and the single remote controled ship letting loose a salvo of rockets each, Explosions impacted around the vanguards letting upa screen of smoke fire and dammaging flying debree when it cleared the wolf was seakling himself into the pilots seat of the remote fighter as it rose back into the air."May syntaru devour youyr souls, but if he does not I shall vanguards! MAY WE MEET AGIAN!"he said with a dark laugh as he prayed in his heart his lord would understand as he hit the afterburners, heading back to the flagship that restd above the swirling clouds and some direly needed maintence and medical treatment.
Stealth meanwhile noticed what CC was charging for and helped clear the way knocking back and holding off shadowbeasts that tired to pursuit her."THATS IT FLEA BAG TAKE OUT THAT SON OF A..."he called out but was interputed as a sahdowbeast impacted him into the chest and was covered up as a ppack pouced on top of him but bitter curses and flashes of light showed he was still breathign and fighting on.

A sharp clang weaved it's way through the atmosphere as the twin Reckoner's collided against eachother's substance. The shadow Andre saw a wall of dark needles pierce the air from where Tala had been discussing with Paladin, and quickly decided he would stay in front of his goody goody counterpart to avoid the incoming wall of dark death. Such a plan was not unknown to Andre who could not hear the few stray daggers fly his way, and he leaped into the air to land one boot upon the thrusted evil Reckoner.
Sickening thuds sounded off the cue of tiny weapons lodging themselves inside of Andre's back, just a few found their way to the evil Andre's exposed under torso. Andre took the pain like the veteran he was, and seized the opportunity to shove the hilt of his reckoner into the familiar mask of his enemy. The force caused a split in the mask as dark Andre found that he was temporarily forced off of his feet and flying at quite the fast pace towards The Prophet's leg, a wall to most of the miniature combatants. The reborn Andre was not far behind the soaring counterpart, gleaming Reckoner scratching the scarred soil to deliver the hopeful final blow.

Amon could only watch as Ci Ci acted on a spontaneous whim, he understood her choice of actions and was not about to stop her from completing a task assigned. Instead, he aided her by fending off the kin of Shadow Creatures, staying them from reaching his feline love. He struck hard and struck true, dispursing one beast after the other. Plumes of black dust flying all around with each defeated beast that passed. He hoped that the fearless cat's course of action would receive the desired and necessary result.. as the heroes were running out of options and the world was growing more and more unstable by the minute.
High above the ground, Spade barely noticed the trail of blue-green energy whiz by him as he sat, perched by Myst. When he finally did notice that the precocious kitten known as Ci Ci had scaled the mass of darkness that was the demon, he watched on in a spark of curiosity.
"Now.. Myst.. what do you suppose our dear feline friend is up to?"
He asked, a distinct tone of intrigue ringing clear in his rhaspy voice. He knew that Myst wouldn't have an answer, but perhaps this could be the cue they werer waiting for. Maybe the plan of attack was finally coming to fruition and the strike to the heart of evil could be made. He watched on, in awe and amazement, wondering what Ci Ci would do.

Myst looked at Spade, then looked up at Ci Ci, seeing her at the head of the giant dragon. She paused for a minute, closed her eyes and thought to herself. Or rather, she was pretending to. A few seconds later she opened her eyes again and looked at Spade.
"I wager that this would be our cue, my good koalla.. race ya to the top.."
And with that, the plucky hedgehog darted up the spine of Syntaru and caught up with the black and red feline. She took a moment to catch her breath then spoke.
"Whatever you're planning, I ready and willing to help.. "
Elsewhere on the tattered battlefield, Naia was digging herself up out of the ash and debris raised by Legion's cowardly escape. One wondered why Syntaru would allow one of his minions to display such weakness. Never the less, Naia stood to her feet again. She looked around for Lord Rayne, Aries and Ishillar..

The large boulder-like fist of the arrant bull struck hard to the cocky jaw of Shae. The force knocked him far back crashing hard into a wall of hardened molten rock. He dropped onto the ashy sand, struggling to keep himself up. That was quite a blow.. he couldn't understand where all of this strength had suddenly come from. He'd faught Augustus before, but he was never this powerful, even for his size. Something was up, but Shae didn't have time to think about it.. as he collapsed into the sand.. knocked unconcious.
Shooting across to the other side of the island, a large blast of white energy rumbled up through the debris of Legion's missle attack. Aries rose up, Ishillar none too far behind. The only remaining Vanguards unaccounted for were Rayne and Archer.
"Naia, I am glad to see you're alright.. but we've no time for pleasentries, we must find Lord Rayne and Archer.. judging from the height of the storm.. the worst is yet to come.." Said Aries, a small hint of fear in his voice.
He knew that with his Apostles slowly being defeated, Syntaru would lash out in an attack of immeasureable strength. They needed to gather the Vanguards and join the mortals to deliver an all out assault to try and stop the Demon God.

The cat grins as she is joined on the head by Myst, Spade not too far begind, and she is thankful that the demon is either occupied by other things and is very very still as he watches the events unfold in front of him. The draconic head is large enough to fit the three freedom fighters . She is bending down low to keep her balance, not wanting to fall off so high in the air and her eyes glow with a strange bit of energy and her mouth is open in a predatory grin, "Well Myst, we are going to attack the large jewel on this here head with all our might, single attacks seem to do nothing, but if we can concentrate all of our energies together then perhaps we would be able to put a little dent into his armor. Sound like a plan? I am going to need both you and Spade for this one, you guys in?"
Already there is a great power emanating off of the feline, it is hard to tell by her stance but the more energy she draws into herself the more she seems to favour her one mangled leg. Looking close at her one can see that she is worn down, bruised and bleeding from multiple wounds but she still sounds chipper and full of energy, or at least is putting on a reasonable facade.
"But we gotta move fast, I don't know how long our friends are going to last down there with all those Shadow Creatures... and I don't know how long we can stand up here without this draconic demon realizing that we are standing on his head, he can't be that stupid!"

Stealth grunted as he carved a path through the ever increasing number of shadowed ones. His glowing blades of light cutting through the dark mass like a knife through butter. He looked at the pychos change of battle tatics and rolled his eyes."God damn it moron concentrate on distracting the demon Il ltake care of the shadow creatures."hew cired out as he faught on despite the creatures claws tearing into his clothes and flesh. He gave psychosis a disgusted snort his opion of love as a weakness confirmed by the hedgehogs silly actions. CC and the others needed the demon distracted more than the shadow creatures killed.

"Orion.. Orion.. can you hear me? Wake up my son.."
Lost in a stream of consciousness, Shae tried to respond. The words would not come however, the most he could do was nod his head. He felt strange, he felt not like himself. His heart ached and felt heavy. Desperately, trying to speak and call out to the voice.
"My dear son, you've lost your way.. you've let your hatred consume you.. you played right into his hands.. betrayed your closest friends and allies.. betrayed me.. this is not the Shae I know.. this is not the Vanguard of the highest order who walked with me for those centuries.. you are better than this.. come back to me Shae.. come back to me.. com..e.. b..a..ck..t....o..me.."
The words stopped, leaving behind a faint echo. It was the Goddess, Lady Aurora, callingout to her fallen hero. What had he done.. how could he have let himself be controled so easily? How could he have hurt his comrades, his friends like that? His actions haunted him, tormented him.. but was it too little too late? Outside Shae's mind, the battle between light and darkness was about to hit a major turning point. The great Demon God Syntaru stood watching the chaos below.. and he yawned.
"I think I've toyed with these fools just long enough.. I've lost my interest here.. I have much bigger things to tend to.." said the Demon to himself.
The massive clawed hands of his Draconic form raised up to his chest and an ominous thunder rang out through the skies. Red lightning clashed and cracked the from the clouds. A glowing crimson energy began to emminate from his chest. He wrenched his head to the side, knocking the mortals he'd been ignoring off of him. And as they plumitted to the ground, he let out a thunderous laugh.
"For all your futile efforts.. what have you accomplished, heroes? You have stayed off my Apostles, a commendable feat, they are nothing to me.. merely pawns in my grand schemes.. only my Queen and I will be leaving this place.. to reign for eternity.. pity though, none of you will be around to see the distruction of this world you so valliantly sturggled to save.. Look around you, my influence flows throughout these lands, darkness has consumed this world and its people you CANNOT win.. surrender and accept your fate.." Scowled Syntaru.
All the swarming Shadow creatures below came to a stop, slowly fading back into the darkness. In a cloud of dark shadow, Tala his Queen suddenly appeared on his shoudler, freed from her standoff. Now there were no more raging shrieks from the sky, no more rumbled roars from the ground. There was only thunder, lightning, and the growing crimson energy in the twsited claws of the Demon. For the next few moments.. time seemed to crawl..

Anger, just pure anger grew in the fox. Anger hatred and rage. Anger at what was happening. Hatred for the demon and rage at his own helplessness, at the fact that he was when push came to shove helpless to do anything. still though anger makes people do funny things."SCREW YOU SYNATRU! SCREW YOU, YOU BASTARD! YOU THINK WERE GONNA GIVE UP THAT EASILY HUH? YOU THINK WERE GOING TO CRAWL OVER AND WHIMPER! HELL NO I DONT KNOW ABOUT THE OTHERS BUT iM GOING TO KEEP FIGHTING TILL I GIVE MY LAST BREATH! the fox sanrled as he walked forward hsi blades ingighting once mroe shinging brighter as he shoved as much energy as he could. "SCREW YOU!" was his battle cry as he charged froward as red lighting striekd around the group, the fox narrowed his eyes as he went froward wit ha growl.

In an unblinking second, Amon swooped in snatching his love from the air and landing with her in his arms safely on the ground. Just in time to hear the Demon's ultimatum. Spade, who was also shrugged off let his mighty axe break his fall, striking it hard to the ground moments before impact to make the ground a little softer. Though he still ended up with a few bruises and strained right arm, he was much better off than he could have been. He hit ground in the middle of the Dark One's speech. He looked over at Amon, seeing that the feline was safe, he looked upward, the young Myst was still falling from the sky. He ran out and held his arms open.
"Don't worry Myst I'll catch ya.."
Emerging from the rubble of Legion's assault, Rayne rose to his feet. He nodded to Aries and Ishillar. He pulled Archer up to his feet and the Vanguards stood together. Rayne looked on a dn listened to the Demon's discouraging words. He then turned to his fellow soldiers of Aurora.
"Friends.. it is time.. we will fight along side our mortal bretheren and stand against this vile evil, together, our combined strengths should keep him busy long enough for some one to deliver the final blow to the Crimson Star in his forehead.. someone will also have to keep the Queen from interfering.. I.. will take that task.. I will hear no word against these actions.. for the name of our Lady.. strike hard, strike swiftly, never give up hope.."
With that, Rayne rose into the sky and waited for his fellow warriors to begin their final mission.

The lemur stood stoically upon the great shoulder of her Lord, her body was wracked with pain and she had to force herself to continue standing straight. Wounds all over her furred and scarred body still bled and she was dimly aware that her body was getting to the point of exhaustion where if she pushed herself further she would not come back.
But he needed her, he said so himself. And there was something more, something building deep within her blackening soul. A light, or rather, an absense of it, a nulling of the pain and any feelings. It confused her a bit and yet she was at peace, she recognized it. It was Him. Syntaru. His very essence slowly filling her, causing her to change. This itself allowed her the strength to continue standing while she watched in those few moments where time seemed to stand still where the heroes seemed to gather for one final, useless attack against her and her Lord. "The fools..." She mutterred, loud enough for Syntaru to hear, "They continue on even though they know that they are beat, that there is no chance for survival. Why?"
____
CC shook her head gently, still feeling as if she were tumbling to the ground though Amon had caught her and deposited her safely upon the ground. She scratched behind her left ear and grinned nervously, "Thanks hun... that wouldn't have felt very nice..."She eyed the uneven and rocky ground warily and looked around at the forming group. Things were slow and yet happening so quickly.
She had been ready to send a blast of energy towards the jewel, the demon had not even taken notice of the three heroes upon her head and somewhere in the back of her mind, the feline wonderred if even now he realized that he had dislodged them from their task. Rayne's words struck the fire that still burned in CC's heart and she grinned in appreciation, "Hey, I've still got a ton of fight left in me, just try to stop me!" she said bravely, directing it at both Rayne and the evil one.
Still, she favoured her leg, this brief moment in time making her realize how much pain she still was in. But she would fight this to the finish, it was the promise that she had made to herself and the Goddess.

"No need Spade, just get out of the way.."
Cried out the snowy hedgehog as she fell to th Earth. She threw her arms out infront of her and formed a set of ice pillars below her using them as steps to land safely on the ground below.
"I've got it all under control.."
Naia, a little battered, made her way over to the mortals where they took their stand infront of the great Demon. She took a deep breath and drew her katana, resting it at her side for now, awaiting Lord Rayne's signal She looked up, the immense size of Syntaru's ascended form was terrifying, but she could not let it bother her, she had work to do.. she was a Vanguard of the Goddess Aurora, sworn to uphold the values of the light and vanquish evil from the lands.. she would not fail her lady.

(OOC: In an effort to progress the Roleplay, I'm pulling the Story Master Card and assuming all roles to complete this Storyline. Sorry it had to come to this, but it was unavoidable. This will be a 3 post mega-ending.)
In every generation, there is an event that defines it forever in history. A moment in time where everyone and everything is affected thereafter. Its legend will be passed on from generation to generation, recycled in eternium. For this generation, it is the events occuring on a small volcanic island in the middle of the Mobian Sea. 200 kilometers South-West of the Kingdom of Mercia, on an island rich with destiny.
In the Chihuahuan tribes of the Southern Jungles, it is known as Isla de la Sombra Negra (Island of the Black Shadow). To the treetop warriors of the Koalan tribes in Downunda, it is referred to as Ilsan desa Hambe Nuwhe (Island of Eternal Fire). In Mercian legend, it is known as The Eye of the Prophet. It has many names and many legends, all of which are inconsequential to the heroes currently waging war here.
The great Demon God of destruction, Syntaru, has arisen and ascended to his true form. The Vanguards to the Goddess Aurora stand vigil with the chosen heroes of the Mortal coil. The battle for the survival of the universe itself.. is drawing to its climactic end. High in the air, above the boiling pools of magma that hiss and spit with the falling rain, Lord Rayne Celestus of the Vanguards hovers. His head bowed down, his hands clasped together, he began to pray.
"And shepherds we shall be, for Thee our Lady for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, that our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall stay back the influence of the Demon, standing together with you in unison.
Mother of Creation, Holy Lady of Light, Goddess Aurora."
Rayne's prayer echoed out to the ears of the Vanguards and the mortals. Despite the thick dark clouds shooting blinding cracks of crimson lightning, booming thunder and the black rain, there was a new hope in the air. A tense moment passed and Rayne raised his head up.
"NOW!! Strike hard, strike swiftly and strike true FOR OUR GODDESS!!" cried Rayne.
In a blazing fury the Vanguards below took to the skies, firing blast of Holy energy into the rigid body of Syntaru, causing him to jerk with each strike. Rayne concentrated on Tala, delivering a nice hard thwack to the abdomen, kocking her off the shoulder of the Demon. She growled and hissed at the brash iguana.
"You're going to regret that Vanguard.." she snarled.
Rayne simply smirked at her with a light chuckle in his voice. She growled a final time and streamed towards him. Swiftly moving to the side, he grabbed her by the ankle and spun around releasing her in a stern toss out to sea. He made sure to keep her on her guard, not letting her get any headway, keeping her as far away from Syntaru and the others as possible. The Vanguards were perfectly synchronized in their attacks. When one would make a direct hit, they would dash away and another would strike from a different direction.
These tactics proved fruitful, as the Demon lost his concentration on the energy he was gathering and began swatting at them like flies. Each swing of his massive hands narrowly missing the bodies of the buzzing Vanguards. There was, however, another battle taking place on this island. A battle of self, between Andre Demockstro and his dark influence. They had been evenly matched thus far, but the tides were sharply turned after Andre's ears rang with Rayne's prayer.
His shadow self lunged forward to strike, Andre gracefully side-stepped the attack and in a time-slowing moment he swung hard with his Reckoner, the sound of the blade hitting the hard molten rock of the land was all that was heard. Suddenly, the black form of Andre's doppleganger began to crumble and dissolve. As the shadowy form faded, a bright amber glow emminated from whence the second form stood.
The glow surrounded Demockstro, swirling around him, changing him. His burning felsh coming to a cool, the darkened flames dying out, his scarred and tortured face healing, reforming. His hair waving in the force of the energy. His robes turning to a harvest orange color from the black ash they once were. His sword, changed from an instrument of horror, into a shining grace. A perfect blade with a hilt in the shape of an Angel's wing. He was reborn.. his sins forgiven, just as the Goddess promised.
