The next thing the panther felt though was a steel paw wrapping around her neck as she was lifted up off the ground."Heh...nice try but you forgot I ..WEAR ARMOR! you will pay for that wound you gave me female."he sanrle as he clowed his fist tighter around her wind pipe. "An eye...............for.....an eye."he snarled suign the blade in his other hand to stab her in the side wherre she stabbed him befrioe throwing her to the ground as he growled in pain, eyes narrowing at the feline as blood and oil come from his wound"I am going to make you suffer for this, mark my words whore, I ...WILL...make...you suffer."he snarled.
Sudenly their came a feral sanrl as a grey blur bounded under CC , stealth gave a angry cry as he slashed through a shadow beast in mid leap with his glowing sword, the blade passing though the dark matter like butter burning it away into nothingess as he whirled and shoved the point of his blade through the next ones forehead with his second blade. He didnt even stop to watch the jackel burn away as he carved an opening through the shadow beasts with his blades of light a whirling dirvish of a sun in the inky blackness."Miss me toots?"he called out to her glancing up as he salshed open a sahdobeasts belly as he stooped and ducked under a shadow beast as it lept at him. "Now why dont you come down here and get back to distracting that thing before your love struck pyscho boyfreind breaks the distraction to come to your aid eh?" he called out.
archer meanwhile just waited for his allies to recover as he prayed to the light that the mortals plan worked, for it was truly their only chance of winning.

"Aw, come on, I am sure this is distracting somehow! Besides, aren't you supposed to be somewhere else you crazy fox?!" The cat yells out in reply, rolling her eyes as she lifts the bottom half of her torso up to wrap around the demon birds beck, pulling down sharply so that the creature starts making a rather fast spiral towards the ground. It's struggles are not in vain as some of the large spikes protruding out of its body scrape and puncture the frazzled felines fur, but it does not manage to do enough damage before crashing to the cavern floor in a large pile of dust and sulfur. An audible crack is heard when it lands and then from that small area silence...
Finally some light groaning sounds and a slightly ravaged CC pulls herself out of the almost settled dust, revealing a slight indent where the Wraith landed but is now gone, sent back to the Shadow Realm when it perished. Dusting herself off and limping slightly she does a quick check of herself noting that quite a bit of blood comes from the wound on her leg though that seems to be the worst of her current wounds.
Shaking her head she grins lopsidedly, "That may not have been the brightest of my ideas...owchies..." She mumbles to herself before taking a glance around to see the situation as Stealth had afforded her with a slight opportunity to take a breather and to figure out what was going on and with the time she was able to notice the various battles or stand offs occuring in the area. Actually... come to think of it, where IS Amon? She thinks to herself, glancing around hurriedly as she realizes that she has yet to lay eyes upon the handsome hedgehog, some semblance of fear rising in her even though she knows that the psionic can take care of himself.

Paladin sat down on a less scorched stone and rested his weary hide a moment. All this fighting had tested his limits and he was surprised to see, the Celestius Nova wearing off, seeing how little was holding him together.
"Make no error, I'll seek not to convert you little Apostle. I know full well if I let you go and exposed my throat I'd be traveling to the next word faster than you can say 'sucker!' To be honest, I don't particularly care if you live or die. Your life is your destiny and one of the hallmarks of the Light is redemption is always an option should you choose it later. Only you must choose it and on your own terms or it means naught.
On the other hand, I can't have your continue to wipe out my kinsmen and change the status quo so I must exert some force over you. Having traveled as far and wide as I have I'm of the belief that there is enough room between here and Oblivion for us all if we'd only respect our limits and acknowledge our enemies. I have acknowledged you, we are not the same by any means, but certainly of the same ilk. We both serve a purpose absolutely and even in our loyalty it is flawed. Realize it now or later but complete belief is blinding.
I move for a stalemate because even if Shade slayed you, and considering what the Dark did to him or with him I should say, I can't slight him for tearing that pretty little throat of yours out. I move for a discontinuation of hostilities because even if you were rendered no more or innert Syntaru would just replace you like he does his other wraiths. To him, you are no more than a tool and there is pride in that lot in life, but little substance. If that is a enough for you than so be it. But I'll not have the milfoy deaths on my conscience in the name of the dark one. Mercy is only weak in those that fail to see it's strength and wisdom.
The battle waged on in a brief moment of silence between the pair. Whilst collosal forces raged near by both warriors wished they had the strength and fortitude to stand and do battle once more for their chosen side. Sadly, that time would not be now. . . .
Meanwhile. . . Augustus' world was turning, and in angels that it shouldn't. Having those head adornments ment always having something your opponent could grasp and muddle you with. No matter how long he'd trained with his people it never ceased to unnerve him

As if in response to CiCi's thoughts, Amon came crashing down into the ground hard. Having been tackled by a Shadow Creature and Shadow Wraith team-up. A Wraith had picked up one of the Jackals and at a high speed threw it into Amon. Before the dust could settle, Amon was back on his feet and had obliterated the jackal with a blast of psionic energy. He brushed himself off and looked over to his feline love, sending an attention getting whistle through telepathy.
Their eyes met and he smiled.. just as another Shadow Creature came bounding into him. The poor guy couldn't catch a break, the constant bombardment of the vile creatures was enough to drive one mad. On the other side of things, Lord Rayne was nearly done recooperating, hurrying as best he could, Naia was in trouble at the hands of the wolf, Legion, and if someone did not act soon, her aura may very well be extinguished.
(Something quick, I'll have a much better post ready soon.)

"You can accept your own faults and I respect that in you Vangaurd, though you hve fallen far from the Grace of My Lord, you at least still have something. Be assured that I see the flaws in my occasional over zealousness, and that as I am still mortal I still see flaws in my being." She would have shrugged nonchalantly if it were not for the scythe still biting into her neck, so instead she settles for a mere raise of her eyebrows, giving her mangled face an even more disturbing look as it is accompanied by a wince of pain. Her tail twitches impatiently, as if it is tired of the cessation of hostilities, but she manages to continue on her speaking regardless of the annoyance inside her mind towards the standstill.
"I have troubles understanding why you so vehemently fight for your goddess, seeing as though I do not see us going anywhere soon perhaps you can explain to me why you fight so against My Lord. What do you see as being so terribly about Lord Syntaru that you and your fellow warriors are willing to sacrifice your very lives for it?"
~~~
Seeing Amon brought a swell of emotions to the bright-eyed feline and she felt a pleasing rush of adrenaline and wish to continue her fighting. Though the situation seemed impossible for the moment, from her vantage point she was able to see that the Shadow Creatures were becoming less of a threat as more were taken care o fby the systematic attacks of the Warriors of Light. She smiled until she saw the Psionic knocked to the ground by another of the large jackal-like demonic creatures, growling she leaps once more into the fray, having settled long enough and being inspired by the attack upon her love.
"Don't you dare touch another quill on his head you vile creatures!" she calls out, blasting a chunk of shadowy flesh with a powerful energy attack. The Creature had enough time to look back at her, its large maw open in vague dumbstruck suprise before she sends another wave of energy into it, sending it back to whence it came. With a wink she grabs onto Amon and lifts him off of the ground, turning around and rushing back into the battle with a mere flick of her red-tipped tail.
Stealth couldnt help but roll his eyes as he jabbed his blade backwards sckewering a demon that was trying to get him from behind, to the fox amon could have gotten out of that himself the feline just putherself in danger foolishly. "Shouldnt you two , oh I dont know DISTRACT THE DEMON! Leave the shadow creatures to me love birds, you guys have a job to do."he called out to them as he ran his other blade through the neck of a jackel with a growl. "And that folks is why I dontdo the whole mating seen a mate is too much BS to deal with."he sighed as a hot wind blew in his face as he ran into a group of jackels with a feral scream as they rushed at him
CC leaps over one of the jackals, slashing downwards as she passes over top of it, it's scream of rage cut short as she sends it back to the Shadow Realm. Sparing a glance over at the fox she wrinkles her nose and shouts back to him, "And aren't YOU supposed to be somewhere else... talk about not doing your job!"
With that she turns back and seeing a clear path once more she rushes towards the large demon who has yet to take notice of her pitiful attacks towards him, after all, what could a mere mortal do against a Demonic God?
With a primal scream that is backed by years of her rage she concentrates all of her energy, standing stilll amongst the ongoing battle for the briefest of moments as an emerald green energy surrounds her. "We're not done yet Syntaru!" She screams out, unleashing the energy that she had allowed to build to such an extreme amount that it left her panting and struggling to stanmd she felt so light-headed. The Huntress' Rage hurtled towards the Demon's head, a large target that was hard to miss, hopefully now she would get his attention.
Paladin was surprised to see that the Apostle was so in control of herself enough to have a decent conversation. So often beaten, or trapped deizens of the dark lashed out in spite of their mortal predicament. Pausing for a moment, his face clouding over with memories best forgot, the vanguard begun his tale.
"Long ago, in my home zone, the Zone Between Zones, or your afterlife. I was raised to be the champion of my adoptive father. Thanatos, Keeper of Neutral Souls. Just as your lord keeps the wicked and mine the holy, Father took the majority that could go to neither destination.
Time moves differently there, and I grew up slowly, the sole living thing in a land of death. Till one day, my Adoptive Uncle, your Lord, came to my Father's realm looking for another warrior to add to his army in his unending quest to smite Aurora. He trained me in the deadily arts mercilessly and my surrogate guardian was powerless to stop Syntaru even in his previously crippled state.
Till one day, I met a catgirl, a wandering soul and I fell in love with her. Our courtship was short and YOUR Lord felt that compassion had no place in his warrior of darkness. So he tore her soul from her body, destroying her essence forever. I, foolishly faught back, so he took my hands and replaced them with similar destroying digits more akin to my father than the once fleshy I one had."
Having told this part of the tale, Twilight dispeled the illusion on his ungloved hands, the boney fingers waggling in the sulfur scented air.
"From there, Father was furious, and renewed his stance of neutrility, I carried on until I became indebted to your newest recruit Shae from another zone. He was destroyed there, so I sought him out here in Mobius Prime. It would appear his penchant for corruption is universal, and not just zone specific. At any rate, in my quest to absolve my debt to the bat, YOUR Lord corrupted the destroyed essence of Shade there and twisted him for his own sick games!"
During his recanting the vanguard had found his feet and had been moving closer and closer to the apostle, his eyes were aflame with vengence and the will to destroy in the name of all that was holy. Fully willing to send every last shadow to Oblivion as was his dominion and call.
"I did not ask to join your lords army, I did not ask for these hands, I was given no choice, and I was happy. He has done nothing but make me miserable for no other reason than his own gain and if that isn't reason enough to see that over grown sin back in the Pit than I CAN CONCIEVE NO OTHER!"
Stealth just rolled his eyes and gave off a dark grin."heh thought I might be more help down here keeping the grunts off your tail."he said as he himself let out a grunt as he lept up into the air salshing a avian wraith in half in mid leap before landing into a crouch and a roll under a jackel as he used his other blade to stap into the stomach. "But hosnetly dotn waste your energy like that with amon agian..hes a big boy he cant take care of himself, sont waste your energy with useless emotions in battle."he snaped with a disaproving growl as his blades went wirlwind like though a pair of rampaging jackels as he rushed through the wraith lines trying to keep them off CC and amon
Laying there in the ashes and sand, Aries finally opened his eyes, staring up at the face of his comrade, Archer. He sat up and used a nearby rock to gain balance as he rose to his feet. He put his hand against his head and shook it left-to-right.
"Tell me, Archer, how would you feel about running into the fray again? Hmm? I can sense that Augustus has Shae busy, what say we help our dear panthress Naia with the wolf?" said Aries.
Only a few moments later, Ishillar too rose up, speaking as she did.
"That's all well and good Aries, the two of you go do that.. I will keep an eye on Augustus and Shae while I regain the rest of my strength." said the meerkat.
The vanguards nodded to one another and started off on their tasks. Aries rushed in a blaze of power over to where Legion was grasping Naia by the throat, yet again. Obliterating any Shadow Creatures that got in his path. With broadsword drawn he slashed out, cutting through just enough of the hardened steel, circuitry and wiring of Legion's hand to free Naia from his grip. He helped her away and up to an offensive stance, ready to strike again at the apostle. Ishillar slowly crept her way over to where Augustus and Shae were fighting. She watched from behind a large boulder, slowly recovering from her own encounter with the bat.
Shae definately had the upper hand in this bout. After wrenching the bull's head around, Shae tripped the bovine, but quickly manuvered beneath the massive Vanguard so that his back would fall hard to the upward thrusting knee of Shae. The sharp blow to the back would certainly make even the brauny bull scream in agony. Quickly backflipping to a safe distance.. Shae used his greatest asset, yet again.. his mouth.
"You see Augustus? Even without the use of my kenetic energies I've managed to overwhelm you. Surely now you see the error of your judgement, make it easier on yourself and surrender.." called out Shae, in a condescending tone.
Naia heaved a huge sigh of relief having been rescued by Aries. She regained her compsure and drew her weapon again, enchanting it with a furious roar of holy energy. Her sword now glowing in a blinding aura. She tried her best to remain calm, but she was angry at herself for getting trapped again so easily. She underestimated the wolf and his strengths. She would not let this happen again.
She growled in a feral tone, her eyes focused on Legion, waiting for Aries' signal to strike. Another fighter waiting for her moment, was Myst, she sat with Spade high above the battle resting on the shoulder of the dragon-like Syntaru. She was beginning to have doubts that their plan would work.. her new friends were being swarmed by the vicious black shadow beasts. She began to worry that the light would fail and darkness would reign for eternity.
The draconic demon continued to ignore her, either unconcerned or not even noticing her attacks upon him, it was frustrating and this cat was not one who enjoyed getting frustrated. The anger was rising and she was less and less able to think clearly or e ven know what to do, the Shadow Creatures were still around, attacking the others relentlessly and it seems as if none of the Heroes were even close to attacking the gem at the dragon's head, where was everyone? They had all seemingly disappeared and even ones like Stealth had not botherred to do the job that they were supposed to do. In fact, the fox stlil whittled away at the creatures and thus kept them away from her, a bright light in the middle of the darkness.
An opportunity.
With her plan firmly in mind she began to change her direction, running behind the large Dragon and leaping swiftly upon its tail. She landed softly and for a moment she remembered the wound on her leg, the pain of it almost causing her to call out, but she had been hurt worse and she would have plently of time when the battle was finished to whine about being hurt. Maybe Psy would be able to coddle her and look after her, that would be nice... having someone to look after her for a little while.
These were the thoughts that led her up the tail of the dragon, these were the thoughts that spurred on extra bursts of energy even when she was already so low. These were the thoughts that made her oblivious to Myst and Spade as she rushed past them, a green blue of energy as she lept from scale to scale, making her way to Syntaru's giant head.
~~~
The story was intriguing and full of emotion that the lemur was suprised to hear in the vangaurd's voice, being one who had been not fully alive for so long. But her mind was on other things, slowly twisting and gathering some of the energy withing her, not enough to be noticeable to either the vangaurd or the shadow who had kept her at bay for far too long. It was a long process, but thankfully for Tala, Paladin Twilight was as long winded as she had hoped, her plan was going along so smoothly that she wonderred if perhaps it was all going to easily.
But the raw emotion in his voice betrayed the truth.
It was so minor, so calmly done that neither of them knew for a moment why it was that the Demon Queen did not react the the spitting phrases uttered and screamed by Paladin. Perhaps they had shocked her into submission, but the defiant glare in her eyes told otherwise. It took just a split second to realize that she was not moving, not blinking, not even breathing but before any word could be uttered the lemur exploded.
Or rather, the Shadow energy that comprised the Shadow Avatar of Tala exploded into a million sharp fragments of black energy that sailed out in all directions, not caring what creature or thing they pierced. Tala had disappeared, using all of her power and concentration to bring the Avatar in existence just as she teleported away, causing no further hard to come to her but giving her only enough energy to fully melt into the protective Shadows around her Demon Lord. She could do nothing more, at least not for a wihle. The pain of her wounds and the complete draining of her energy making it difficult enough for her to stay conscious. So, as she did so many years ago, after he family was murderred, she took solace in the shadows, hoping that the punishment of her Lord would not be too devastating.

Shadow energy is a funny thing, it doesn't really make much in the way of sound. So it could be almost considered comedic the way Paladin Twilight was spitting his last one moment and then sailing through the air as crystaline pieces of darkness piereced his body. While he had wisely stayed far back out of Tala's reach he was no where near outside the sphere of the blast and so the vanguard was soaring, with a quite sour expression, toward the edge of the isle.
Shade how ever, was not so luck. As the personage holding the Sahdow Queen captive he was stuck point blank when the duplicate exploded. Whilst not as effective on fellow darkness, force is force and energy is energy, and the ex-reapers partner was torn to ribbons. Bits of black deathog blew apart with the Avatars own dietrus as that battle finally came to a close.
Little more than a draw.
Augustus how ever, was faring not nearly as well. The faster bat, even with out kinetics and teleportation was more than a match for the heavier bull. The vanguard seriously doubted that even with Celestius Nova coarsing through his veins like it was a moment ago that he'd have a chance of beating the traitor. Accepting the blows, his lot akin to absorbing damage, he rolled away in pain and soaked in the vile apostles dark words.
"Surrender? Surrender? Last I checked oh wayward bat it was you who couldn't handle the mantle of light and relinquished it to the dark. It was you who became Syntaru's lackey instead of sitting with the Goddess, it was you who gave up love and hope to indulge your weaker sins of power and greed.
The only one here that's surrendered Shae, is you!"
With that the vanguard exploded into action, his spine and lower back killing him whilst he was at it, but the moves in mind required no precision or poise. While face down in the dirt the bull had closely inspected the terrain on which the combatants fought. This particular arena was more unstable than most, long since enviromental stresses wreaking havoc on the stones normally impervious nature. The lunging attack was high, and no where near the mark. It didn't have to be.
Directing all his bovine strength into the ground, Augustus pummeled the stone into submission. The very point of impact exploded into sandy dust as the earth shook and rumbled with the strike. Taunting flat footed, Shae had no choice but to watch his ballence. Just enough time for the Herald of Souls to throw one all important punch.
