Thunder saw himself on a bed in a peculiar room that looked kinda like an infirmiry. He sensed his surroundings, which came to be that he was still in the Chaos Realm. He tried to recap his past events, and realized he had something on his chest. Lifting his bedsheet, he found some bandages around his waste. Then it all came back. Legion - the menacing wolf. He had stuck Thunder through with his own sword. How humiliating. Being done in with your own weapon. Clearly, that Legion was totally familiar with countering magical energy. What warped Thunder's mind was the fact that nothing worked on him...even his melee seemed to fail against him. He needed some answers, and he needed them now. He slowly got up, turning to notice his sword, the Raijin Blade, leaning against the corner. A snap of the fingers made the sword completely electric, which returned into his hand. His feet touching the floor finally, he walks to find his clothes sitting on a nearby chest, which had his gear on it. After putting on the clothes and warping his gear back to his base, he headed off, hoping to find sombody still here.

CC rolled her eyes and shrugged at the fox nonchalantly, a grin in her eyes and on her cheerful face, "hey, I think it suits you actually... besides, you have to look in the mirror to get the full effect- it is a nice balance!" She said this not only in reference to the marks upon his fur but to the entire change within him, even with his still outward gruff demeanor. She nodded once in agreement to his statement of getting out of the area, it would be for the best and the feline knew it deep in her heart. She could not bear to stand around when other things were going on, and by the lack of activity around the temple something had to be happening as usuallly there was a bit more hustle and bustle in those hallowed halls.
"Alright, anyone have the ability to teleport or are we going to have to walk... and where the heck are we walking? I have heard that there is one of the others, Kuri, who is currently in trouble and my 'hero' of a lover has decided to run off and have fun without us... so that is my suggestion. I am open to other ideas though!" The worry is plain on her black-furred face, her honesty not allowing her to hide her emotions all that well, but it is not a useless worry and there is a strength behind her every move that bellies the power that still lays somewhat dormant within her mortal body. She waits patiently for the fox and the others left to reply to her suggestion, even though she knows that every moment spent debating is a waste of time.
___
The shcok of the Goddess blasting apart the entire temple had shocked Tala but Syntaru's insistent voice within her mind sent her bursting into action. Barely a thought passed through the lemur's mind in the time it took for her Lord to speak and for her to react by teleporting over to the carbon statue that was already so close to her. In the back of her mind she admired the statue's form, the true form of the Demon in all of his greatness and with great relish she reached out a paw. The closer the black paw got to the statue the longer it seemed her claws grew, as if even being so close to the presence of the next shard spurred on her transformation.
It all happened so very quickly, the moment her paw touched the statue it grumbled into dust and the soul shards full energy washed over the entire area. She did not pull back or hesitate as she maybe would have done at the beginning of her retrievals, but instead pushed on through, thick soot covering the rest of her white fur on her good arm, making it look entirely black and she grabbed hold of the shard, tightly holding it in her claws.
The smile on her face shone brightly as she turned towards the false idol Aurora, the darkness of the area making even her bright light seem dim to the lemur. She looks mockingly in the eyes of Aurora as she next speaks, "My Lord, for you! Become stronger so that we may see the great day of your Ascension, now nearer with the retrieval of this shard!"

Stealth glanced at the cat and let out a small smirk."Well considering that kuri is one of the few I could tolerate among you numbskulls. I suggest we go after her, and go help your little hedgei boyfreidn as well before you start to shed from worry."He said with a smirk as he reached out and patted the cat on the head. a michjieivous light flashed in his eyes for a second as he picked on her.

(OOC: Ouch, Ci Ci seems bitter.. )
Rayne looked at Naia, chuckling a moment. The sagely iguana continued walking, looking ahead as he answered her question. His voice shaky, in his age his once verile state was deteriorating. It would not be long before the coarsing star energy in his body would fade out completely and the Vanguard would die off becoming pure essence.
"My dear young Naia, this place.. desolate yes, but what better place to build a sacred temple.. hidden away where no normal Mobian or Overlander can travel? And besides.. the Temple's trappings will stay the Shadow Walker long enough for us to arrive."
Rayne continued to walk, slow, but at a steady march. Several of the lesser creatures skittering away from him, but several lizards followed Rayne in awe.. honoring him, as if he were their God. Strange that such unevolved creatures could have a perception of faith, but none-the-less. The temple was only a good 10 minute walk through the terrain ahead. Back in the caves of Mt. Kahkari, Amon was struggling against the Shadow Beasts.
Everytime he would dispell one another would lunge in for the strike. It all seemed fruitless, until a stirring thought in his mind, up until now he hadn't been fully using his emotive strengths. He smirked, just barely dodging a Beast's claw, he clenched his fist and let out a primal scream. A wave of Psionic energy rushed through the corridors of the mountain. Anything bearing the same make as the Shadow Beasts was evaporated. Opening his eyes, he looked around, he continued on his path following Kuri's energy source.
It was strange though, for the lair of the great Syntaru, Amon could not detect his presence anywhere. He feared for the worst but maintained his course, coming about a room with chains and bindings on the wall. A quick scan brought Kuri into his line of sight. She was chained to the far wall, rushing over he broke her chains. She was clinging to life, if he did not get her back to the sanctuary of the Chaos Realm. Holding her in his arms he teleported out of the dark and dank caves and back into the lush and wonderous Chaos Realm.
Some guarding spirits moved over to Amon, he nodded to them hand Kuri over. The spirits floated away and brought Kuri through the halls to the infirmary. Amon took a deep breath and made his way back to the lobby of the palace. He kept to the shadows, observing the other heroes, not yet ready to face his beloved again.

Loneliness....the second worse thing to darkness, and yet he could feel it. Alone on the outskirts of the castle grounds, Luminous sat, watching the blend of colored light pass in front of him, his mind racing as he tries to find the answers....maybe he is trying too hard, or was he not trying hard enough? With the ability to see the light and darkness in others, but nothing more, was he still blind to what is around him? Why?

Andre did not take more than a few seconds in recovery from that fight. The large shadow walker ascended the steps easily, heading into the temple while he dragged his blade against the temple floors in an eerie grinding noise. Meager traps like arrows or rolling boulders did not delay him much, as he merely turned up the head to singe render them useless or hacked them in half with his more than eager sword. Medieval traps seemed trivial to this walking funeral pyre.
The monster came into a normal-looking room. The room was of an obvious design, though, and he looked through this blase trap with ease. Andre moved into the room and dismissed The Reckoner, and sure enough the walls began to move themself inward at an almost unbearable place. Seeing no need to exert himself the shadow walker walked at a normal pace through this one, almost at the sealed exit when the walls were at a satisfying distance. Andre threw out his arms and braced himself, and the walls suddenly halted their progress.
With a grunt that sounded more like a chuckling fire, Andre thrust his hands outward and pushed the walls back with more force than they could take. Large indents were made where this happened, lifting part of the wall that touched the ceiling and floor so that it acted as a doorstopper against itself. The door was not much better as Andre blasted through it with the demonic strength that bolstered him. All this had taken eight minutes or so. He was moments away from the gem.

The skies above Mt. Aeres were rainy, the annual storm that washed the plains here had begun. The storm would last for a few days, and would replenish the lush environment of the mountain. Shae had already entered the Temple, and only now were the Vanguards Aries and Ishillar arriving. Ishillar swooned as a brush of air passed through her nostrils. The fresh scent of the surrounding forest being dew-dripped from the light rain.
Aries shook his head, but couldn't help but smile at Ishillar's mood. However, the small moment of serenity would be shattered by a rather loud explosion. A plume of dust and smoke rushed out from the Temple's entrance, it would seem that Shae had more than disabled one of the Temple's traps. Quickly the Meerkat and the Hedtgehog dashed up the iconic stairway entering the Holy sanctity of the Temple.
"Ishillar, no matter your feelings for Orion, you cannot let them sway you.. he has been corrupted and he will use everything he can ag-"
"I know Aries.. I know.. I'm ready fo rthis.. we must serve our Goddess and prevent the Demon from rising.. let us not chitter about any longer.. let us get this difficult task over with.." said Ishillar, interrupting Aries and heading down the long dark hallway.
Back on the burning island, the Gem had been restored into the spirit of Syntaru and a new physical body was being forged into existence. A small comparisson to the Demon's full glory, but it was corporeal despite.
"Hmph, not exactly my old self.. but it is still a body.. yes.. now sister fdo you see? You cannot stop my full ascension.. I may not have full power yet, but here I stand in a physical body.. a mockery to all you hold sacred.. your precious Vanguards will not succeed.. I know that your power flows through them.. and thusly.. if I extinguish you.. they lose that power.. and as it futhers my cause.. THEN IT SHALL BE DONE!" screamed Syntaru, teleporting to the side of Aurora and taking a swipe with his massive claw.
Fortunately the Goddess was able to block with very little effort, her brother's arm in her grasp.
"You corporealised too soon brother.. you are still too weak.." said the Goddess, taking a strike of her own, finding her arm had passed through Syntaru's body entirely.
It was only a Shadow.. the real Syntaru had never moved.. until his guise was revealed. With a swift blow of a clenched fist, he struck the Goddess to the ground.
"Wrong dear sister, it is you who are weak.. like a devil in a midnight mass, who prays behind stained glass.. I stand the perfect oposition, for it is assured I am the source of your DESTRUCTION!" said Syntaru, charging a bolt of pure shadow energy.
In the paradime, Shade was in conflict. Here before him was the visage, the ephereal form of Thanatos. Neutrality of the world, essence of Death and perveyer of the fallen souls. Memories past flooding to the Shadow's mind.. times in Syth's youth where he had cheered the Deathog up.. or played with him between training.. times he faught side-by-side with his master..
Then his mind shifted to images of the Demon, the evil he had struggled against. He now served that which he had died fighting. His essence was restored by that evil, corrupted by it, changed by it.. but why then were his old memories still thriving? This internal struggle of good and evil, trying to balance his existence in reality.. to be neutral like his master, and master's Father.
Shade tried to scream as the two sides were practially tearing him apart. But silence was the only thing that escaped. Shade would have to decide, which side would he serve.. which side would he forever tie himself to.. which side would dominate his existence?

The sound of a decelerating engine woke Myst up. Her shuttle was now landing in Sandopolis. She gathered her things and patiently waited to exit the craft. She walked out to the make-shift terminal and looked around for her contact.. he was nowhere to be seen. She sighed, and asked around for information on a means of travel to the Hot Crater.. but no one was talking to the oddly colored hedgehog.
She sat on a meager bench and stared out into the desert. A few minutes passed and a strange looking rabbit approached her.
"Excuse me.. heh heh.. did I hear you right.. heh heh.. you.. you're looking for passage through the desert and out to sea? Heh.. heh.. heh.. I know a man.. heh heh heh.. who could help you.. he is revery here.. heh heh.. he controls the desert.. heh heh.. if you'll follow me.. I could take you to him.."
The rabbit looked malnourished, sagging eyes, a crazed look.. Myst felt uneasy, but she was more than strong, she could handle him if he tried anything funny. And besides, if he really kew of someone who could help her.. it was all she had.. so the two left, crossing the scorching sands. The rabbit kept looking skyward, weary of the sunlight.. paranoid even. It was very curious indeed. The two seemed to walk for some time until they came about a magnificant fortress.. the rabbit knocked on the door..
"M-master Lucian.. I have.. heh heh.. a traveller here.. she.. heheh.. wishes to speak with you about.. heh heh.. transport.. heh heh."
To the North West end of the Continent, Naia found herself reasonably satisfied with the iguana's explanation. She would not question it again. The two had arrived on the Temple steps in the expected time.. Naia got a chill.. but shrugged it off.
"So, this is the Temple of Fate.. inspiring work Master Rayne.. I sense the Walker is already inside.. he is drawing close to the shard.. we must act swiftly.."
Before the sage iguana could answer Naia had dashed up the long staircase and through the entrance to the Temple. Finding several traps sprung and disposed.. scorch marks littered the walls and ground. The Walker had indeed been through here. She pressed onward following the path of destruction.

Upon knocking the world went black for the traveling blue hedgie. A small shriek and a look above had the cackling malnourished rabbit staring down at her as Myst plunged into the sands. The tunnel curved now and again, the smooth sides magically created would offer her no purchase as her decent hastened. Eeiry green flames appeared periodically to mark her passing, they seemed to be spaced very, very far apart. How far was she falling, a mile, maybe two?
Appruptly the chute ended and she found herself skidding to a stop on her rear in a pile of sand, is unusual black color alerting her at once that this was no normal place. The room Myst had ended in was the Throne room, though it appeared vastly different. A simple stone dias with a pulpit stood off to one side, above it, a sky light though artifically created via magic, cast immitation sunrays down on to the simple stone errection. A large, golden hedgehog in ball form was emblazoned on the dias, Palor, a desert god devoted to the sun. The local nomads worshiped him still, a varried incarnation of the Goddess. Before that dias was an overlander, no menacing creature of the dark but a simple white robed priest. His long blond hair untied and loose about his back, a pair of spectacles on his nose as he openly read a book.
As Myst came to a stop the noise seemed to awaken him from his revier in a moment.
"Ah! Excuse me! You'll have to forgive Hugo, he's something of a trickster and new to our order. Welcome to the Temple of Palor. We use the chute to welcome outsiders as many a desert bandit would be interested in stealing our most holy of icons. I am Lewie, Head Priest, and caretaker of this temple. I understand you wish for transportation across our harsh port of call."
The demure priest set down his holy tome on the dias and walked over to the still prone hedgehog. Daintily offering her his hand, Lewie helped her up, his green eyes locked with her own orbs and all seemed right in Myst's mind. This man certainly was a nice sort, even if he was human. After helping her dust the black soot off her he beckond her away from the pile. Clapping his hands, they glowed with a soft nurturing light.
"Mighty Palor, I ask you a servant to aid this young traveler on her way. Rise, mighty Crucio, to escort m'lady on her journey!"
The parlor trick worked, and the golem rose from the sands, it's black stoney body rising to it's full seven feet. Bidding her follow, the priest made his way to a side chamber where a tea set and small cakes were set out.
"The arrangements for transportation are being made young lady, if you please, have a seat and we may while away the wait time in good company, hmm?"
Meanwhile; Paladin was using his perfect oppertunity to counter attack his prone other half to rise in defense of his Goddess. Whether the Demon had seen the deathog or not Twilight didn't care. All he knew was the almost crippling feeling of dying coursed through his veins when the Goddess took that hit from Syntaru. Now the docile anger and righteous rage mixed together. There below him was the creature responsible for all his many lifetimes worth of suffering in a physicall form. It seemed all too easy then to focus that borderline hatred into his weapon of choice, with Celestius Nova still empowering him the vanguard dove.
The plummeting hero's staff flickered once, twice, then glowed black. The kind of magic that levels mountains and scars the surrface of a planet forever. The eternal clouds that waft about the environs of Hot Crater Zone split as the Demon was bathed in sunlight for a moment. Images of his battle with the Bat flashed through the Ex-reapers mind. If the Apostle could gather energy from the evils of the world than the vanguard could summon the good. And it was with that goal in mind that the Twilight Glaive was born, fueled by rage, empowered by light, wielded with a just hand at the most unholy of creatures.
With quickness even the Demon could not hope to match the diving deathog pierced the body of Syntaru in a swiping slash. Touching down as the Demon backed off, and standing guard over the prone Goddess Paladin saw the result of his handy work. One wing caught and aweful gash that bubbled with black ickor, and down his once perfect rippling chest a slight cut went from shoulder to abdomen. The air danced with the rival energies as it had when the deathog had battled the bat. In an even tone that knew no malice Twilight spoke softly.
"Twice I have marked you demon, and when I do again it will be your last. Begone from this place or feel the Vanaguard of Justice strike you down once and for all!"

The Demon grimaced as the blade slit across his body. A look of anger washed over his face, but it quickly turned to a smirk. The gaping wound close dand healed perfectly. No trace of any harm remained. Instead of an expected brag, Syntaru merely charged a bolt of Shadow Energy and dismissed the former Deathog into the air, flying towards Tala. As the Vanguard flew, the Demon grasped his sister by the neck, lifting her up into the air.
"Do you see? Do you see the weakness that flows throuhg you beings of light? Do you see how pathetic you truly are? You cannot stop my full ascension any more than you can stop the march of time lead by the hand of our Father, Chronus.. face it dear sister, you will lose this battle.. now, do be so kind as to DIE AS BEST A GODDESS CAN!" said Syntaru emmersing Aurora in a surge of dark Shadow Energy.
The Goddess, for the first time in her existence, screamed in pain. The blackness purging deep into her being.. all the Vanguards were sure to feel this, as they were all connected to her through the powers of Celestius Nova.. it was a dark day on Mobius.. and only getting darker.

The deathog was wounded but not out, his whole body burned, akin to being in the sun too long. The dark energy, from the source of darkness it's self, was a powerful thing indeed. But either Syntaru was underestimating the vangaurd's ability to absorb punishment. As Shae gave Twilight more of a run around than his errant burst had done, or more than likely the arrogant demon was overestimating his corpreal form on Mobius proper.
The multiple shadow holes, the summoned beasts, the Apostles he was empowering across the globe all at once. Really if one thought about it, Syntaru was just as badly stretched out as the Goddess was, worse as he didn't have all his soul gems. The only logical reason being for Aurora's lacking will to battle being her very nature to nurture life instead of irradicate it. Whilst largely unknown to Paladin, as his world resembled three things: pain, the demon, and his weapon.
The pain from the bolt was fading just as the darkness infecting his own source of power began, looking down at his hand the flesh blurred and for a moment a bony hand was seen before returning to it's healthy dark blue. It was like back in the Land of the Dead, the demon had it's claws about his heart, in the metaphysical sense instead of the open chest sense.
The demon was gloating again, and raining charge after charge upon the seemingly defenseless goddess. Even in his neutral incarnation the deathog abhored violence against the meek. The damage absorbed didn't detract the deathog's will for one second.
Let's see JUST how much the devil could heal, he had all day.
Like the first star in the night, akin to the name of the blade, the weapon shone in Paladin Twilight's mind. On one knee, his open hand filled with the weapon's weight, hefting the only thing that he knew could possibly injure the monster.
"Creatures of darknes, creatures of light. All bask in the eternity of the night. Whilst lumninesence dwindles to it's last. Aforementioned powers find a sage repast. Even amdist the twilights fading coil. That essence can always find fertile soil. Before the dark engulfs and prevails. There is always a ballencing of the scales!"
With source of empowerment so close the spell came easily to the deathog. That obsidian glaive absorbing the ambient light still found in the small spotlighted arena, transforming slowly into a javelin of light. Pumping his arm into the air the lance of illumination sailed into the demon. Again and again the ex-reaper let loose his wrath on the demon tormenting his diety. A veritable rain of pure light essence decended upon Syntaur, a scorched earth option the crafty vangurad knew his own superior would be immune to.

(ooc- I would not say CC is bitter... just really miffed *grins*)
Tala smirked at the unfolding events, but did not waste any time gloating, with a sharp hit Syntaru had knocked the hedgehog vangaurd in her direction and he seemed content to merely focus all of his energy and attention upon Syntaru, but that was his mistake. With nary a word the nimble lemur leaps into the air and lands gently behind Syth, her newly formed talons scraping upon the ground being the only sound to admit to any of her presence.
"Insolent whelp, you dare believe that you even have a miniscule chance of defeating my Lord? His ascension is nigh and you would do well to bow before his greatness!"
Her red eyes flare with shadow energy that courses through her very veins and out through her clawed black paws enveloping the hedgehog in a burning inky black ball of energy. Without waiting for the energy to disipate she is already readying another attack her foot kicking out sharply in the direction of his knees. The hit is powerred by the dark energy that seems now to swirl all about her and she gives no mercy this time to an opponent whom follows the goddess so closely. Her hatred burns as badly as the shadow energy that courses through Syth's body, and that hatred only serves to fuel the flames within her.
___
CC ducks down and her right paw shoots up, grabbing the fox's arm that had just gone to pat her upon her head. With a quick movement she twists it behind his back, pushing just enough to make it sting a little, "No patronizing this little kitty Mr.Fox... and besides, I am sure Amon can look after himself, I would just hate to miss out on the fun"
It was not exactly a lie, the feline knew that Amon could look after himself and she certianly did hate missing out on any good fighting, especially after being so thoroughly beaten before... but she did not refuse actually being worried. Letting Stealth's arm drop she winks at him and then looks around ,finding that no one is answering or wishing to make any agreement to their plan or any other plans. "I guess it is just us fox... I think that it is going to be a long walk to find Kuri and Amon"
She laughs, her ears twitch slightly and her laugh dies down in her throat as her sharp eyes look around the area. "Strange... I could swear that we are being watched..."
