Between the dark energy and the sweeping kick the vanguard's weapon is lost, rolling to side and writhing with the painfull dark ether, Paldin attempts to right himself. His words drip venom as he stands as quickly as his jolted nerves will let him.
"He who serves blindly is but a slave by choice. How pitiful you must be give up all that was given for acceptance. For if you shall besmirch that which Aurora has blessed the natural order places you in Death's Domain. Allow me to escort you to Father, PERSONALLY!"
Anger sadly, can only take one so far. With the battery of light being drained by the demon, all the battles and recent injuries, the deathog was running on low. Yes, Celestius Nova had indeed impowered him to pull off those attacks but the moment be spoke the need to fight smarter not harder. Clapping his hands once and jumping he lept into the air, when reaching the point of the sun's flare above the lemur he enacted his spell. When Twilight touched down, a different soul stood before her. A dark blue deathog bearing a scythe, and wearing a green cloak, Syth Thanatos had come to collect her soul, or at least that's what it appeared to be.
Reaching out a skeletal hand a sense of fear filled the air. Even ethreal creatures can perish, and having been mortal so recently Paladin was willing to wager that the instinctual need to survive still thrived in the fanatical Shadow Queen. Behind her and to the side, the real vanguard stood gathering what little energy he had left to deal with the upstart Apostle.
"Dearest Aurora, I NEED TIME!", the deathog thought hurriedly.

Kurenai could feel herself being lifted and taken away, but had made no effort to communicate or even acknowledge whoever had saved her from the demon's lair. The dhole's body was still spasming a bit from the force Syntaru had wracked her body with. When she was laid upon a bed, Kuri opened her hazy brown eyes looking around. She knew she was inside the Chaos Realm, which meant that someone had to have gone out of their way to rescue her. "I guess I should go find them and thank them." she mused to herself, staring up at the ceiling.

Stealth just rolled his eyes when CC dodged his hand. "You cats.." he sighed before nodding to follow her.
Meanwhile archer scanned the area as he scouted the skies. "Hmm nothing at all. but the goddess said for certain that apostle would be here. But I haven't seen hide no hair of this legion." he mused unaware behind him the air seemed to shimmer and this shimmering patch of sky seemed to follow the eagle vanguard waiting for its chance. Suddenly the eagle cried in pain fluttered in the sky hovering as he experienced his Goddess' agony with her and that's when the predator chose to strike, disengaging its cloak field showing itself to be an aerial terror drone.. the archer didn't have the time to respond to this threat when it opened fire on the eagle. He let out a surprised yelp of pain before falling down int other treetops with the drone in pursuit.
Meanwhile Legion stepped out in front of the brush heading toward the entrance of the temple with a confident smirk on his face as he approached the bull. "Excuse me sir..but I think you should move." he said in his normally cold, calculating but arrogant voice.

Shade's mind was locked in a battle against itself. The will of Syntaru pushing him into the darkness, the debt of Thanatos pulling him to his former post. It was madening, terrifying, and no matter how hard he tried he couldn't scream. Finally he collapsed to his knees, he began to think to himself.
"What choice I make not only maps out my future, it affects the destiny of all things.. if I follow the whims of Syntaru I lead the Universe into eternal torment, destruction, and darkness.. if I return to my master.. I can stop this horror, but at what cost? I cannot rejoin with Syth, as he has taken new form.. there is a soul within me.. I can feel it.. I-I know what I must do.."
Shade suddenly jerked to his feet, staring Thanatos in his omnipotent eye giving nary a word, nary a motion, he simply turned and exited the rift. He returned to the battle ground, the Demon holding the Goddess in his grasp and his former master standing in his old form facing the Shadow Queen. He called his Shadow Scythe to his hand and dashed into action. The black blade seered through Syntaru's hand freeing the Goddess. He then turned to Syth and hovered to his side.
"It is good to be able to fight at your side once more, Syth.. or Paladin, whichever you prefer.." said Shade, speaking not another word, merely readying himself to strike at Syth's command.
The Goddess too was recovered, and was preparing a strike of her own. The Void knoweth no fury than the Goddess' wrath.. and she had plenty of it to go around. The once docile, complacent Goddess was burning with a rage she had never felt before, and that rage reached out across the planet fueling the powers of Celestius Nova further.
"And the warriors from the heavens would rain down upon the beast and all his army, washing their presence from the plains, the swarm of the Holy light would come as a daggar into the heart of darkness.. and it would strike him down.. sound familliar Syntaru? Oh, that's right, you never got that part of the prophecy of your ascension.. I must have forgotten to tell Rayne to give you the updated copy.. my mistake.. taunted the Goddess.
"Prophecy has a habit of being misinterpreted sister.. I know all too well the power of Celestius Nova.. I watched you use it on Daragoth those milenia.. did you tell your new slaves that they would die in the process? No of course not.. you're far too focussed on your own goals.. you and I are no different.. willing to sacrifice our servants to suit our designs.. you really are quite a bitc- said Syntaru, being cut off in sentence by a blast of Holy energy.
The greatest sibling rivalry known to existence was coming to a head on this volcanic island. This battle alone could tear the planet apart.. and with each passing minute the servants of the great beast drew closer to the remaining Soul Gems. For instance.. Shae.. he had already blasted his way through to the sacred chamber. Aries and Ishillar were slowed momentarily by the attack on the Goddess, but upon feeling her rage, they pushed on through to the temple. Just as Shae was dispelling the statue, they arrived.
"You're too late.. the instant I touch this Gem, I'll be brought to the place of his ascension.. and the Gem will increase his power 100 fold.. there's nothing you can do Aries.. nor your, dear sweet Ishillar.. I can't understand why the Goddess would send the two of you.. is it some sad attempt to win over my heart? Hmph, well tere's no chance of that succeeding.. my heart beats with pure darkness now.. you mean nothing to me.." said Shae.
Ishillar gritted her teeth and charged up a bolt of energy, something she had never been able to do before. The energy envelopped her fist and she lashed out, streaming infront of Shae and striking him with an uppercut to the jaw. Shae was unmoved however, his head merely tilted back an inch or two. His eyes glared down at the Meerkat with an evil glaze. He delivered a swift backhand knocking her to the ground. He was about to strike again when Aries rushed in, grabbing his hand.
"I'm sorry Orion.. but I have to do this.." said Aries, firing a blast of Holy energy at point-blank range into Shae's chest. Shae flew backward.. and straight toward the Gem.. he was laughing maniacally.. a haunting laugh, the kind that would stick with the Vanguards for a long time to come.
He had planned it this way. He knew Aurora would send these two, he knew they wouldn't hold back, he knew they would make this mistake. He knew he would succeed.. time seemed to slow to a crawl.. Aries and Ishillar scrambling to grab Shae before he could hit the Gem, Shae turning over in mid-air reaching out for the shimmreing crimson stone. And in an instant, he was gone, a flash of energy.. and he had won.. leaving the Vanguards in his wake.

The lemur laughed, a haughty and chilling sound that would send a shiver down any mortal's spine - even the immortals such as the Goddes and her Vangaurds would be disturbed by the feeling held within such a simple sound. Scorn twists her normally pleasuant but scarred face, creating a frightening image the bellies all of the anger that has lain dormant for years within the carefully constructed walls around Tala's heart.
"If you believe that I follow Syntaru blindly then you are guilty of that same blindness in regards to your precious goddess, for you fail to acknowledge the solemn calculations and reasons that led me to his embrace. When your false idol scorned me and saw fit to destroy all I knew- leaving me behind horrible scarred and afraid, it was HIM who rescued me and provided me with the strength to become what I am today!"
Tala regards teh deathog in front of her with solemn eyes - at one time she would have been reduced to a quivering m ass of mortal fear, but instead she stands her grouned, maintaining her ready stance.
"And you believe that I would fear death after being sent to the brink of it as a test by my Lord and Master? I..."
Her tirade is cut short as a familiar voice sounds behind her and she starts, taking her attention away from the trap that she had almost been caught in to the reappearance of Shade bedside Vangaurd Paladin. Her face does not show her inside thoughts at almost being caught and in a way she finds herself glad for the resurgance of the now traitorous shadow for he alerted her to the real whereabouts of Twilight. A low growl escapes her lips and she sends a terrible wave of shadow energy towards the two.
___
CC nods towards Stealth, him being the only one to even acknowledge her plan, and takes off down the hall towards the entrace. "You know Stealth, I do not even know where I am going... "
She laughs uneasily and looks to the fox, shrugging slightly, "but at least it will prove to be an adventure..."
The black furred feline passes a hall, chancing to look down it and her emerald green eyes focus for a moment upon the sight of Kuri making her way painstakingly across the cold floors. The cat stops in her tracks and cocks her head to the side, alternating looks of relief and confusion passing over her honest face. "I see that you have returned Kuri, though from the looks of it you should not be wandering around - I am thankful that you are as it means that Stealth and I do not have to wander the world trying to find you and Amon. Umm... I am assuming that it was indeed Amon who rescued you?"
There is hope in her voice and yet her mild is going a mile a minute with different possibilities: I the hedgehog still trying to find Kuri in vain? If he has returned, why has he not shown his face? She does her best to hide these varied emotions from her face and stands in a relaxed pose, waiting for the Dhole to reply, behind the Dhole the feline's bright eyes focus upon another hero who had been somewhat forgotten in the mess of everything - Thunder.
"And Thunder, are you alright? You look perturbed..."

Andre Demockstro walked his way into the room which contained the Carbon Statue that held the gem he was questing for. He could hear the approaching footsteps of the Naia as she raced towards him, the sage of an igauna not far behind by the importance of this mission. The demon stood in front of the carbon statue with contempt, thoughts boiling in his mind as he fought an inner battle of mind. Was this the right thing to do? Surely he'd be no better off if he did Syntaru's bidding. What world would he be free to roam if nothing in it was left?
The colossi sighed, clenching his retracted claws in violent silence. He wanted nothing more to be free, to have a chance at a second life. If that meant destroying the world in which he wanted to live that life, it wasn't worth it. This was a waste of time. A mockery. He had been duped. Andre cursed himself for not noticing the illogic decision he had made. The demon turned around to face the entrance of the chamber, awaiting the arrival of his two adversaries.
The most he could do was delay the situation as long as he could. The Reckoner came to his side without needing to be called, and his cape was lit ablaze in preperation. He was a storm awaiting the calm, violence without justice.

The blast of energy rent the air, the lemur's rage fueling the attack like dousing a match with kerosene. The very rocky ground was torn and shattered in the lancing blows passage. Narry a second was too much for the deathog and his shadow as the shot split the two apart. The vanguard pushing the freshly acquired shadow soul out of harms way and taking a blast to his right arm. Muscle and sinew tore as the light reinforced flesh rebounded against the violent darkness. The Twilight Glaive vanished in a glimmer of black light and left naught a trace. Even with the Goddess on the attack and empowering her kin Paladin was out of tricks with his last retaliation exposed and defenses down to save his childhood friend.
Arm hanging loosely at his side, Twilight rose to his feet and kept moving. The volitile Apoostles rage still prevelent on the lemur's face. The Shadow Queen obviously didn't like to be toyed with, neither did the deathog.
"Formation of Sealing! Trust in my, My Shadow!"
The command the ex-reaper spoke of was another distracting technique, in which the darker one would engauge the enemy and distract them. Binding them for a moment while Syth would seal and dispel a violent spirit plaguing the land of the living. The Shadow would be dispelled at the last moment to not be banished himself into the void to be sorted again.
Reaching with his good hand into his pouch, the injured vanguard brought out a fist full of carbon powder. A last ditch Phoenix Gambit to deal with the upstart darkling and still have something left to aid the Goddess against the Demon.
Meanwhile; Augustus was standing his ground infront of his formidable foe of darkness. The feral wolf was not directly known to the bull, but his very soul reeked of the evil that plagued all of Syntaru's servants. Tapping the massive hammer against the back of his sandle, the vangaurd grimaced and readied for battle.
"I'm going to give you one warning, and one alone. Leave this holy place here and now, never tread on it's blessed soil again. I'll not try to sway your life, twas your own destiny to choose, but you'll not hurt the innocent whilst I stand!"
With Celestius Nova coarsing through the vanguards veins the bull let out a roar. His eyes became large and wide, but maintained the intellect the might creature had. A beserker kind of madness to stand up against all odds so long as an enemy stood before him. When the mighty man didn't see the Wolf make a move, he sent the large hammer twirling end over end in a perfect spiral, the massive missle about to connect with the Apostle's seemingly unguarded head.

Stealth just shrugged as he followed the cat."Well I would be surprised if any of us know where we are going. The goddess dosent give us much in the line of intel. Well besides stop the bad guys from getting the shiny thing. She knows alot more than she tells us, hence one of the reasons I dotn trust her fully and thats not the dark power in me talking."the fox said as he looked over at the cat with his crimson eyes as he followed her. When they reached Kuri, for once the fox smiled and nodded."Well whatever Cici Im just glad shes back after all like I said shes one of the few people here I can stand."he said but groaned and turned to walk back toi his favorite statue when Cici called out to thunder."Unlike that guy who I iwhs would suvver a thousand bees stinging his eyeballs, the ego driven lunatic."he grumbled as he walked back.
Meanwhile Hunter let out an avian battle cry as he felt the power of celstius nova burn within him as he launched back up into the sky from the treetops and grabbed the bot in its talons and threw it twords the ground, watching as it blew up under the rough impact."That is the end you foul metalic demon, now i must warn agustus of these........toys?" He said but was stopped as the air started to shimmer about him as terro drones dropped their cloaks all about him having moved in durring his small flight. The eagle frowned as he stood there hovering in the air as the drones charged their lazers then shot up as they fires diving and soaring left and right dodging fire from his pursuers.
"Mmm but what fun is retreating? Like wise I canot let go of my mission bovine my pride as a warlord would be at stake. And now I must be going inside I cant hog you al lwhen their are so many playmates wanting to have fun with you." the wolf chuckled and turned to move but stopped and looked at the bovine bellow and throw his hammer at him spiraling closer and closer to his head yet the wolf didnt move but just starred at it with a smirk, even when it suddenly stoped. Yes stopped grassped and wrapped in metalic tentacles that seemed to have lauched from the bushes behind the wolf. "Like I said bovine so many people to play with you and so little time."he said with a laugh as two unholy screeches came from the side of the bovine as one hydra stomped out slowly heading tword him, its plasma cannons charging tenatcles waving ready to strangle the life out of him. and then another apreared this time swigning the hammer at the bovine that he had thrown at its master ready to smash him with it. the wolf grinned at the bull and bowed."hmm I do hope my hydras keep you entertained Now ta ta."the wolf said as he conenctrated on his tesla gauntlets building up a ball of energy lettign its crimson light pulse through the air as the hydras enganged the bull and finaly when it had enough energy he fired it at the temple wall making himself an entrance that he readily used to make his way to the jewell.

Halted momentarily by the paigns of the Goddess, Rayne recovered and continued at his slow and steady pace depsite the urgency. He made his way carefully up the Temple steps, passing through the hallowed doorway. Upon his entering, runes and glyphs along the walls began to illuminate in a bright red. A pillar of white light came down around Demockstro, sealing him in place. Only Syntaru himself would be able to escape from such a binding. The power of this Star Child was still as unfathomable as the days of his youth.
"So Shadow Walker, what say ou now to your unholy quest to revive the great Demon God? You are helpless in that pillar, trapped, a mere stain on the robes of existence.. set to be removed.."
Rayne's voice echoed and amplified through the glyphs. A fool could understand why, it was obvious that this was his Temple. Rayne drew closer down the hallway until standing before the great beast, Naia standing in confusion beside him. Meanwhile in the plain of the Chaos Realm, Amon continued to follow Ci Ci and Stealth, still keeping to the shadows, building up the conviction to face his beloved.
Why can't i face the consequences of my deceit, why am I so afraid.. perhaps it is because.. I fear I may lose her? Th eone light in my life since my wretched freedom from the Zone of Silence.
Amon accidentally bumped a pedastol holding a vase, as it tumbled to the ground Amon quickly tried to catch it with his telekenesis, but it was too late, the vase had hit the cold marble floor.. his position revealed.
Blast it!!
And what of young Spade hmm? Still on the plain of the mortals, sitting in his village square, all alone, seperate from the other heroes. Doubting himself now, why had he really been chosen, was it just some cosmic joke to get him to lose weight? He sat throwing rocks into the sand. Making miniature crates, hoping to get some sign, some word that would call him to arms again.. but with each passing moment that hope began to fade.

A flash of light gleams in the sky as Shae is transported from Mt. Aeres to teh Hot Crater Zone. Landing perfectly on his feet next to Syntaru, Shae gives a defiant smirk to the Goddess and drops the Soul Gem into the hands of the Demon. A glare of raging red energy washes over the island as more of his power is restored. When the light clears, the great Demon stands tall, the red stone upon his forehead almost complete. And as he stood, he caught wind of a rather insolent soul under his command. He merely turned his head to Shae, opened a Shadow Hole, and turned his attentions back to the Goddess.
Shae on the other hand was now on his way to the Heavy Valley. Appearing directly in the central chamber. He hid himself behind the Carbon statue while the other Vanguards were lecturing the Shadow Walker, who currently stood pirsoner in a binding spell. He decided to wait and see what they would do to the Walker before acting. His presence masked by the energy of the Statue. Back in the blazing heat of the Hot Crater Zone, Syntaru readied himself to clash powers with his sister once more.
Shade, stood proud beside his former master, preparing to fight with him against the Shadow Queen. Across the planet Aries and Ishillar were soaring through the skies flying toward the Eye of the Prophet, a fury of black clouds began to swirl above the molten Island. Prophecy was set to become reality.

While waiting for the two injured heroes to reply CC notices the fox starting to exit the scene, heading back in the direction of the statues and his favorite lounging place. With a quick grab made by her left paw, she grasps tightly onto his tail and pulls sharply, "Not so fast Stealth, don't think that I am going to let you get away so easil..."
The playful grin on her face and her casual jesting is stopped by the sound of a large crash upon the floor. CC's head twists towards the sound, her eyes flashing, "I knew someone was watching..." She drops the fox's tail and takes a few quick steps towards the pillar where once a very large and precious vase stood, "Alright whoever you ar....Amon?!" The shock is clear on her face and she stops dead in her tracks, her ears going back and her tail twitching slightly as her mind processes the multitude of thoughts running through her head. Her tail twitches again and she glares at the hedgehog for a moment, finally deciding on hurt and anger to reign supreme, "Would you mind explaining why it is you are skulking in the shadows instead of joining those you would consider friends... and the one you apparently love or is there perhaps something that I am missing out on?"
Her words are laced with anger although the carefully chosen phrases belly the fact that she is still curious and perhaps willing to forgive if the hedgehog could come up with a good enough answer. And so, the feline was left to wait for yet another reply....
___
With two opponents to fight Tala's mind quickly focusses on the advantages and disadvantages of having to deal with either one. Finally, she seems to come to a decision, though the actual process takes less that a few seconds and she races towards Shade, the injured Vangaurd not being worth her full attention at the moment and the twice traitorous shadow being more of a bane in her calculating eyes.
The ever burning rage still pushing her forward she rushes towards the shadow, feinting left and grabbing him with her right metalic arm. The grip is strong and thorough, the clawed metal paw squeezing tight around the shadow's arm. Meanwhile, her left paw draws back, as if she is going to deliver a punch, but her paw remains open as she rushes forward as if she plans to rip a hole through Shade. "You will pay dearly for turning traitor Shade... your pain will be the pleasure of my Lord, I will see to it!"
Her vehement words hiss with fury and her eyes flare even brighter at the mere thought of his betrayal, for once so caught up in the true belief of Syntaru could never fathom why any would turn from his grace.

Thunder had been wandering for sometime now, his thoughts about his last battle still haunting him. He wanted to get back at Legion for what he did, but he feared he would get worse treatment than his last defeat.
Suddenly, Thunder's focus was suddenly knocked upward toward the voice of a female cat, as well as a male fox, one he'd hoped not to run into, for obvious, and now evident reasons. Thunder had to speak up for himself.
"Don't you have anything better to do than to bash on other people? You remind me of too much of that Legion I lost to, 'cause both of you are too damn over-confident in yourselves, and need to be put in your places...hard." he sternly said to Stealth, then turning to the seemingly more sympathetic Cici. "As for your question, miss catgirl, I've felt better. I've been racking my brain as to how in the heck I'm supposed to be of help to you guys when I could've even lay a scratch on that Legion guy. I don't even know why I was chosen to join in the first place. I want to help the Goddess, but..."
Thunder just cut himself off with a depressed sigh. His stress was truly getting to him.

A great sigh of relief was the iguana's answer. Even though the beast could not move, it was clear that all his muscles, his tension, his hostility had relaxed. There were a few moments of silence as the fire around Andre dimmed down, turning back into a cape that hung suspended in the air because of the light's entrapment. This left Andre's charcoal black body exposed, scars and white slashes ran along everywhere. He looked cracked from the middle out, as if a rock had dented glass.
Though he could not move his head, Rayne could feel Andre's one eye staring at him through that pitch black hole. It was not the glare of a demon. "For such a champion of the light, an officer of justice among immortals, you understand little about me." The giant said with a steady voice. "I have been a chained mutt to Syntaru for too long, vindicator. You may judge me with your divine wisdom, but you will only judge me after I have told you what you should hear. Though I am in no position to ask this, I believe you will listen to reason." Andre stood there in suspended animation, waiting for the answer. He had pulled back in every fight that he had fought with the mortals, he had not killed yet. This was one of the only chances he would get to reckon with words.
