"I was just asking." Thunder's tone became more stern as Kurenai spoke to him so sharply.
Thunder grew agitated about the attitudes of most of the members. It seemed that the events were getting to them. Then he sensed Luminous approach.
"Hey, you're that one echidna from earlier..." Thunder said, noticing he looked fatigued. "Are you okay?"

Stealth sudnely stood up from under his spot by the tigress statue, a frown on his face. He cursed all the gods in the mobian myths and legends at leaving an injured girl like kuri, one he could actualy stand no less, with an egotistical hedgehog like that moron thunder, Then when the ground shook under his feet, it only added to his worries as he bolted down the hall to find the others his left paw still lightly steaming with shadow energy.
Simon let out an iritated grow at the bovines trick and took off in pursuit, but soon stoped and a dark grin came over his face as he chose to sneak after the bovine, peering at him from a distance at his confusion over the statues, another one of the temples traps. He silently laughed at the bovine pondered over this puzzle, knowing he wouldnt realize what was happening until two late, . Simon drew his blade once more and took aim and hurled it over the distance tword the bovined exposed back, the blade would surely peirce steel flesh and bone as it flew silently in the air.l

Amon merely nodded to CiCi, silently agreeing that their lover's qualms would have to wait. More important things were developing. The quakes and energy spikes began to grow stronger and more frequent. Keeping a calm demeanor, he led the feline out to where the other warriors were conversing. He told Ci Ci to take them all outside to the front of the palace, to safety. That's when he noticed Stealth was not among the group. Amon darted off to collect the stray kitsune, the image of his love fading in the distant hall running outside. Amon finally arrived to the place Stealth was occupying. Taking a moment to catch his breath the night black hedgehog looked into the eyes of the grey fox.
"Stealth, quickly.. we must leave the palace.. the battle on the planet is reaching out even into this realm, once we are together, I can teleport us back to the surface.. we are of much more use there than here.. and if we cannot help directly, at least we can offer our strength and support to those in the fray.. surely a Mobian of your morals can agree with that, yes?"
Down in the continent of Downunda, Spade too could feel the shockwaves of the Holy and Unholy energies clashing. Villagers were scrambling to leave their homes to get to more secure grounds. Spade however, stood in the center, staring up to the sky, in hopes, that he would be remembered by his comrades and picked up to oin the struggle between Good and Evil. He felt abandonned, but still bearing an unwaivered loyalty to the cause. His hand gripped and released the hilt of his mighty axe repeatedly. As if he wished to draw it out to strike down a Shadow Beast, but did not have the right moment.
Accross the planet, Master Rayne was eyeing the Walker with a distant yet focussed glare. Indeed did the Star Child see the quandry that the demon had been placed in. If he completed his task, he would free himself of control, but lose everything else in the process. And if he did not complete his task, he would be denied redemption in the eyes of the Goddess. Quite a quandry.
"Hmm.. I see things from thine eyes Walker, no matter which path you choose there is no true victory for you.. while it is my charge to ensure you not succeed, if you truly are seeking to serve in the light I cannot deny thee the chance.. fate is cruel in its game.. yes."
The iguana pondered a moment.. searching for a loophole that would serve the purposes of both his own goals and those of the light seeking Demockstro. Every solution he could muster would still create great loss.. there was no way out without consequence. After a brief moment, the Star Child removed the barrier holding the giant.
"As the eldest serving Vanguard of the Lady Aurora, I leave to you the choice.. but I humbly ask that you leave your debt to the demon unpaid, that is how he controls you.. if you deny him the satisfaction you free yourself.. and if you fight by our side against him, the Goddess will see the light in you and absolve thy sins.. or you can follow the whim of the demon and be his puppet beyond its completion.."
With that the iguana turned, grabbed Naia, and left the Temple. The choices had been lain before the demon.. it was up to him.

CC watched Amon run off once more, her mind worried and the usually ever present smile upon her face replaced with a frown and ears layed back flat against the soft black fur of her head. Taking a deep breath she glances over the few assembled heroes, looking at each one of them in silence, they all look so confused. We are all in the same situation but there is no one here to lead us, we have been left to our own devices it seems.
The feline realizes that she is merely in the same situation that she has been in multiple times in her life, just on a larger scale, and all of a sudden, amidst the tremors and the falling debris, she begins to laugh. It is musical and cheerful and one may think that she had finally broken, gone crazy through the stresses and troubles, but when she finally regains some semblance of composure the worried frown is gone and strength can be seen in her bright emerald eyes. "Alright, everyone seems to be together.. we are missing a few but I have not seen them since the fights. Kuri, are you feeling healthy enough to move on your own? If not then please, lean on me- i have strength enough for two at the moment. Thunder and Luminous, you are both okay as well? We must stick together if we are going to get out of here alright. First, lets get out of this place before it collapses upon us!" The cat takes hold of Kuri by wrapping an arm around her for support and then makes her way to the exit, urging the other two to follow and being sure that Amon and Stealth would be close behind. Her insticts told her that was why the Psionic had run off and while a part of her worried she pushed it to the back of her mind, choosing to trust her partner rather than continue to doubt him, especially in a time where there was no room for doubt.
The large doors were standing open and the small group made it out with only a few close misses of plaster and other things falling down upon them. Once outside, the cat was shocked to see that the sky was stormy and the wind was cold, making her shiver even though she was still warm from the slight exertion of helping Kuri. She waited for sight of the hedgehog and fox, knowing that once they arrived then Amon would be able to transport them to Mobius where they would have a chance to do something more than just be mere sitting ducks.
___
The lemur felt hits upon her flesh and upon her mechanical arm- the arm took no damage and if she was hurt by the clashes she did not show any pain. She was used to pain and it did not bother her, especially when her focus was so intent upon the deathog in front of her. His words played upon her ears and had she been weaker they possibly would have found purchase in her mind, but instead she just shook her head at Paladin's continued blindness, "You are a fool if you cannot see that I am fully devoted to my Lord's cause! Did you think that I was not aware of my mortality? Did you think that the power went to my brain so that I became addled? Your bravado and self assuredness is a facade deathog, and even now you worry about your Goddess, that false priestess of all that is good"
She sneers and lands a hit squarely in the bone of his jaw, dancing around him nimbly and attempting to dodge his blows but one catches her off gaurd and for a moment she has to stop her talking to regain her balance. She gains her footing once more, wiping blood and sweat from her brow so that it does not drip into her eyes, but she does not stop for long and soon she continues their deadly dance, but her jabs and kicks are merely a distractions as her tail begins to wrap quickly around the body of the deathog, entrapping him as a snake entraps its prey.
"If you think that I am not devoted to my Lord then you are more blind than you think, it is through pure force of will in want to serve him that allowed me to break free of your spell and if it means that I must leave his shadowy embrace and the powers he gifted upon me then so be it, for once I destroy you and he destroys your precious Goddess then I know that my powers will be returned to me. I am his Queen! I do not fear my mortality, it is still a part of me but I also do not fear death, for I would die for his cause if need required."

The Shadow Walker watched the Iguana leave suddenly with the other Vanguard, and for a moment or two he stood there in quiet study. The debate had suddenly gone, his trial had ended with a dismissal. Andre dropped to his dark knees, the Reckoner giving an angry clang as the evil blade hit the floor, free from it's master's claw. In fact, Andre seemed to just fall apart on the spot as he knelt there. His once-startling mask fell to the floor from his mangled face, and the cape shriveled up to leave him there, a stripped charcoal black being with hair that blazed of orange, eye that seethed with a single low burning violet flame.
"What ... should I do?" He asked himself, unaware of Shae's presence during the entire ordeal. Demockstro lifted a claw to his eye, examining his cursed body for the first time in some time. There was something prodding in the back of his mind, something that felt unfinished as he did. The withered heart inside of the once-human creature was still in his decision as the looming Shae watched.

The lemurs strong tail enwrapping the skeletal combatant Paladin grasped at her flailing arms, his jaw was cracked and in the bustle fell to the ground, but still the voice of the vanguard rang out.
"Of course I dread for my benifactor, it is in the nature of the light to care for our own, to offer safe harbor, solice, and sanctuary for those we hold dear. It is our compassion that is our strength, our bond, our shield."
Suddenly the two were very close, their movements restricted by the others binds, it was then that being no longer mortal had it's advantages, winding back as far as his neck bones would allow, the deathog slammed his skull into Tala's forehead. WHAM!
"You serve because your master demands it. There is no freedom of choice!"
Another wind up, the fires in the dead sockets burn with painless intensity. WHAM!
"I serve my mistress willingly. Because I was set free in my ambition to settle an old score!"
Again the merciless skull cascades in as stars dance before the combatants eyes. WHAM!
"Even if I am diluded and wrong, I am happy. When was the last time you sighed, cried, laughted in an innocent way?!?"
The world swims as the cracking of bone could be heard. WHAM!
"Was the price of your innocence worth the power you don't have even now?!?"
Bits of bone fall onto the lemurs feet, a tooth is stepped on by her adjusting heel. WHAM!
"WHEN YOU SACRAFICE EVERYTHING FOR NOTHING THEN WHAT IS THERE TO GAIN!"
The grip on the apostle loosens as the bones of Twilight litter the battleground floor. He had no more to give, no more power to summon, no tricks left to play. Hopefully it would be enough.
"I should know, I walked the path you tread long ago. . ."

Thunder followed Kuri and CiCi's example, leading the blind echidna outside where it was safe in case in came down. This situation was getting out of hand. Why was the goddess' own place getting shockwaves all of a sudden?
"What's going on here?!" Thunder asked worriedly. "Is the goddess alright?"

"I feel for the worst..." Throughout the entire ordeal, Luminous could not ignore the pain he felt in his heart, as if the light around him was being...bent, broken into pieces. His eyes seemed weary as he found his way along with Thunder's help, following the static light that surround the hedgehog, but he looked back towards the castle. Stealth and Amon was still inside, and he felt that if they did not hurry, the place would crumble around them....

The newly energized feline continues to hold onto Kuri, supporting her even if she does not need to be fully supported, knowing deep inside that their trek was only just beginning. She smiles at Thunder and pats him reassuringly upon the shoulder, even though her eyes cloud over with worry for a moment before she hides that behind a carefully constructed mask, "No matter what, we must stay strong and not let these negative thoughts poison our mind. The Goddess does what she must and if she is not here at the moment then it is probably because..."
The truth dawns on the cat and she closes her eyes, memories of past battles that she had experienced in the time chamber flood back to her causing her stomach to clench in a sickening realization, she opens her eyes again but instead of sadness there is determination, "In other realms," she begins to explain to the few around her, "there were battles similar to this. Battles in which I, or a version of myself, took part of. Psychosis, Stealth, Shae... Syth. All of us were there and fought against Syntaru. It took a great sacrifice to stop him from entering into that world... it took a life."
She stops, choked by emotion that she does not fully understand but forces herself to continue for the benefit of those around her, "I believe that the time has come for drastic measures once more, another sacrifice... but because Syntaru forced himself upon this world before the Warriors of Light, you all and myself, were at their full potential, a larger and more dangerous sacrifice shall possibly have to be made. That is all that I can think of... that is the only reason why I can think of why the Goddess and her Vangaurds are nowhere to be seen. They do battle, even as we speak and run for our lives from this place that should be safe... they fight Syntaru and his dark minions."
She stops, as if at a loss for the blunt truth of her words that she believes without a doubt in her heart, she looks back to where Stealth and Amon should be exiting the building but does not see either of them amidst the quickly building rubble, please, hurry my love

Stealth was silent for a second as the palace shook about them as a pillar crashed behind them. the fox just nodded. "As long as kuri stays safe and that idot thunder dosent get in the way, I would be glad to help the others with what little I can offer, now lets get the hell out of dodge before this place falls on top of our heads Psycho..."he said wit ha nod clenching his black lined fist and bolted tword the exit heading tword where the others were, finaly it would be a chance to help and stop sitting on his tail, and mabey a chance of vengence agianst that damn lemur.

Thunder listened to what Cici said and took it to heart. The Goddess and her Vanguards were doing battle against Syntaru for the sake of Mobius and everyone on it, including himself and his companions. There was a vicious holy war going on right now.
"Well, if there's anything you need from me, Cici, please let me know," Thunder said. "And you'll get it. Do you have a plan?"

CC looked with a bit of shock at Thunder's question and run a hesitant paw through her hair, smiling regardless of the stress and other feelings running through her. Such faith and strength, she could see why he had been chosen as one of the warriors of light among the others that stood around her. Her bright and wary eyes flick back towards the large doors that they had just exited and she gets a glimpse of the fox, Stealth exiting and with renewed hope she turns her attention back to the group.
"Thank you Thunder, I think that we are going to need all of us to work hard and together if we are going to get through this okay. As to a plan..." she stops to think for a moment, sorting through the few options that she has in her mind and the experiences that she has had in this lifetime to work off of. She nods imperceptibly, as if she had come to some important decision and then looks back at Thunder, "Well, I think that we will get Amon to transport us out of this realm and back onto the main land of Mobius. Once there we will get Kuri some healing attention and get some supplies. We want everyone to be in the best condition possible. Once everything is together then we should begin to prepare for the worst..."
She shrugs and smiles fully, "We are all fighters, so we should do what we do best and fight! With the amount of pure energy being thrown around we should be able to find the source. Or, if that fails then we can always rally the other mortals... those who are no doubt in fear and panic caused by the craziness going on. If you have a better idea, mention it anytime, but that is the best that I can think of at the moment!"
_____
Each blow resounded upon the lemur's head like a drummer beating upon the soft hide of a drum and the words of the deathog sound in between the ringing of her ears. Blood seeps down her face and around her eyes so that her vision is blurred, the tears of pain force her to squint and she has to concentrate upon all of her will to keep her grip upon the Vangaurd and to be able to stay upon her feet.
Her head swims in confusion and each word that reaches her twisted mind causes her to think and follow a train of thoughts leading to a potentially disastrous path. The final blow comes and Paladin loses his grip on the Lemur even though she stands firm, her tail holding onto his skeletal form more from shock than anything else. She drops to her knees and with her, he follows so that they both kneel face to destroyed face. The old scars upon the lemur's face are nothing compared to the damage she now brandishes, but still something burns within her eyes as they stare into the mirror image of the deathog's eyes. She seems to study him as if a small child would study a new toy, with confusion and indeed, her face does brighten, but with a menacing glow.
She speaks slowly and quietly, so that amongst the sounds of battle going on around them, only Twilight can hear what she is to say, "You speak to me of love and light... when it was through your Goddess that the only ones I knew were murderred..."
With great effort she begins to raise her mechanical arm, having to almost will it and the muscles that control it, to work. It groans as the various pieces whir and grind, being tested to its full capacity.
"You believe I serve because my master demands... but I was given a choice, I was given that freedom"
The arm reaches his shoulder and she rests it there for a moment, the weight pushing the deathog down just a bit more so that her head stands just above his own,
"I had nothing, was nothing, without Him, but even without his gifts I am still full, still complete because he compliments me and I Him. He is my light and my love, he is all I know and from what I see with your Goddess, I wonder if she truly shares that same love with her followers. Look at you, no substance to you, no life left. Does she care? Will she save you from the last blow?"
Her expression softens, and for a brief moment there is sadness on her face as she stares into Paladin's eyes, "We are so similar, you and I, both believing that our way is correct. The difference is, I have no delusions about the Lord I serve- I know that I will fight to the last breath for the honour of serving Him. I care only to serve Him who has been the only one in this world to care for me. Power or no power, light or darkness... I will always be me- full and complete. Not a shivering mess of bones, hope and bravado..."
With a movement that is quick, as if she had been storing up the reserves of energy for this moment, her mechanical paw opens and closes around the neck bones of the Vangaurd and tightens. There is no breath to squeeze out, only the vertibrae to hold onto with those thick metal fingers. She grasps tightly and her intention is clear as her face goes fully blank once more. Her bloodied face leans in so that her pain-filled forehead rests against the sharp, broken shards of Paladin's own skull and for a moment she seems to be unable to continue on. The pain of his sharp, broken bones pressing into her flesh cause more blood to course down her already wet fur and it is realized that the only thing keeping her from passing out, is this self-inflicted pain.
"You fought well, Vangaurd, your death will be quick because of that. I thank you for helping me in my faith to my Lord and reminding me why it is that I serve him, you will be remembered for that."
The crack is not audible, it is as quiet as her last words and when she moves her mechanical arm away, the Vangaurd's broken skull goes with it, the bones that had been holding it to the main body crushed to dust. The rest of his body collapses around her, bones clattering useless to the hot stone floor and her tail flops to the ground lethargically. She stays kneeling, her shoulders slumped and mechanical arm dropping to her side. The skull, broken and battered, falls at her knees, and in a strange twist of fate, it lands so that the still red eyes stare up into her own. They slowly grow dimmer and dimmer as the final life essence leaks away from the deathog who had survived through so much and lived through many different worlds.
And so she kneels, as if in a daze, shoulders slumped over the bones of the Vangaurd Paladin Twilight, mindless for the moment, of the continued battles around her as she watches the final bits of life go from eyes so similar to her own.

"Hey, I have a base we all can crash at!" Thunder said. "It's in Marble Garden Zone, and it's underground. It has plenty of supplies there, especially medical supplies. Though, I'm not really good at first aid, but I'll do my best."
Thunder made sure not to hold back when offering his help. This war meant alot to the future of Mobius and he wanted to lend ever limb he could.
"What does Amon use to get around?" Thunder asked curiously.
