Psychosis stood unnerved by the Goddess' words, he had felt the arrival of these Shadow Beasts, he could feel their power, it was intense.. simillar to what he'd felt as his avatar touched the statue in the Temple hall. He calmed himself, plunging all emotion from his mind, focussing his powers for the coming battle.
He knew now, that this was all part of his destiny, why he was freed from the Zone of Silence, why he was cursed with these powers. He was ready, ready to face the unknown, that which was his fat, his future. He knew not what would happen, but he would do what he felt was necessary.

The golumn shook it's head in the projection the cambot gave Robotnik.
"Come now Doctor, we are not foolish individuals. Yes, the convoy would protect me, until you decide to make it fly a few thousand feet in the air and drop me out of it. I can stand the sun for small periods of time while it eats through my magic, but assuming I survive the time exposed and the fall, I would never make it to cover and sucessfully fight off what ever you'd send my way.
My golumn will do for now, think of it as an ancient form of cell phone, only you get to see my reactions as they should be instead of tone of voice. Besides, I recall quite fondly of your prehistory of what happens to the poor rare species that you stumble across and decide to immortalise in metal. And while I'm not entirely sure that you could even sucessfully roboticise me, I'm sure it would hurt like Hell, so for the time until I can prove my worth enough to the point where you turning me into a lab experiment is no longer feasible I will opperate at a distance. I believe Nic and Nack opperate under the same circumstance, naturally wanting to keep their fur where it is."
Meanwhile;
Something wasn't right, Syth thought, after hearing what the Goddess had to say through Shade.
If she's as powerful as she says she was then one can only wonder why she needs the help of mortals now. . .Certainly there are whole pantheons of demigods/goddesses that would be more than willing to lend a hand to her if the very nature of the world was in dangered by Syntaru's Return. I know the Land of the Dead and even Father would side with Aurora if the flow of souls to our realm was destroyed, denying us our purpose.
Something isn't addding up, something isn't making sense, and something is prowling around down there in the forest with a murderous intent strong enough to sense all the way up here. Hmm, time to get some exercise. Stay put Shade, and aid the Goddess, I'm going to play Shadow Boxer.
Are you sure that's a good idea Master, accordign to the Goddess those things are evil given form. Shadow Banishment won't work on them regardless of their dark nature. . .
Worry about keeping her royal nibs happy, I'm going to do what I do best, shed some blood and remove some morons from this mortal coil. . ..
(Edited; Knack and Fang = Same person. So I swapped for Nic and Nack (Archie Comic world Nack and his sister) You can remove this when you see it.)

"No dice nosferegotist, if you can't trust me enough after granting you access to my inner sanctum, then you cannot trust me enough to do business with me." said Eggman. "Nic and Nack are irrelevant in our affairs, I assure you, no harm will come to you so long as you show me the real you, if my word does not suffice, perhaps this offering of peace will"
Eggman snapped his fingers and a SwatBot brought out a live mobian Raccoon.
"I was going to roboticize this little vermin, but it seems now it would make an appropriate knot tie between the two of us.. what do you say?"

There was a flurry of movement from those who in the group of would be heroes who had felt the presence of the large dark jackal-like beasts that travelled among the outskirts of the area. Even though she was hid among the shadows, Tala knew that her presence was known as well, but it was of no consequence as the beasts would keep the rest occupied while she went for what really mattered, the gem.
The darkness was near overwhelming and in a mere few moments there was a heaviness that certainly was not there before, the black forms of the beasts began to close in, drawn towards the heroes of light like moths to a flame, their red eyes seemed to penetrate to the very souls of those that happened to see them before they disappeared once more into the shadows. The weaved in and out, letting those around get mere glimpses of something moving in, a wisp of blackness here and an ominous red eye there. They were playing with the heroes, their prey... hunting them and doing what they sought to do best, strike fear into the hearts of all which was good in the land.
There was no emotion, merely the need to follow t he commands given to them- and follow them they would. They drew ever nearer to the heros, flitting back and forth enough to seem to be more than there really were.
In the meantime the lemur drew closer to the temple, finally gathering alongside where the shadows were long and the sunlight seeming to be so far away. She would get in easily but there was something else, another, apparently a wolverine, heading into the temple. She was quiet, slipping through the shadows quietly behind him, watching his every move and waiting for the right moment.

Stealth quickly forogt his protest as the cold shiver down his spine grew in inensity as his eyes widend. Over the goddes shoulder to the cealring beyond, movemnt...slight flickering of shadows but with a dark presense that seemed to envolpe the area. Red eyes flashed that seemed to make his insides numb. He shuddered and drew out his pistol turing around to verivy the same dart shadows bwere behind them too."There here..."He hissed as he turned offthe saftey with a cold click, eyes darting around as he lelveled his weapon down into the clearing. Eyes squinting as if to lock onto at least one of those mysterious figures, his finger slowly squeezed the trigger as his pistol tried to follow the slippery things. still a dark smirk grew on his face at the thought of fighting these things came to mind. "This is gonna be fun."He muttered as he tried to lock on a sahdow as it darted through the clearing and fired, the gun sounding out through the still air.

Kuri gave an indignant cluck at being lifted into the air and moved to the weathered pillar, before looking straight at the wolf, listening to the goddess' story. When Stealth finished his small rant, the dhole shook her head. "I kind of agree with him," she said, waving a paw towards the fox, "I'm not really sure how someone like me could really make a diffrence. I don't even want to know what these 'shadow beasts' are, either!"

The images in his head were enough to startle him completely, no being used to really see anything except for what map formed in his head by his other four senses. None the less, he was moved by the story of the planets pasts. If this had truly happened, then what he has been feeling was true. Something was coming, and he must do whatever he could to save his home.
Then he heard the voice of the male next to him, getting the feeling that he was of the fox species, though it was only a rough idea by his voice and smell. Still he could understand what he meant. Lum himself had power over the light around him, though cursed to always be a threat of always storing power when in contact with it. The fox beside him claimed to have no powers at all, yet he could remember the sound of a machine nearby. Could he be the one who was riding it? "If a difference cannot be made, then why are you here? It may be consequence, it may be fate, but I believe what she says." Lum wasn't afraid of being found out now. He could somewhat tell who was around him now, His head turning to the wolf beside him, he smiled. "You may not have powers, but you do have resources, and the brains, I do believe, or else, you would not be sent here on the machine I overheard you come in."

Shae quickly took charge.
"Alright.. can the chatter.. the time to act is now.. these beasts are relentless." barked Shae. "You, the echidna, Stealth and you the Dhole concentrate on the beast coming from the West.. Templar, you, myself and the wolverine-" he was interupted by Gulo.
"Hey! Hang on, I'm in no condition to fight demons.. my weapons are fried I'd be useless to you.. you're obviously guarding this place.. I'll keep watch.. if anyone tries to get in I can stop them with my claws.. but a demon? No way.. griped the wolverine.
"Hmph, fine.. Templar, it is you and I, we shall take the beast to the East (OOC: RHYMAGE! XD) all of you.. GO!! NOW!!"
Shae darted towards his targeted Shadow Beast, teleporting behind it and bombarding it with energy orbs, the Goddess however, mysteriously vanished from the action. Gulo sat in wait, watching the saps go into battle, getting ready to dash inside.

Kuri nodded slightly, waiting for either the enchinda or the fox to make the first move, allowing her to follow. Her hands reached inside her jacket, grasping the fine rope of her rope dart, ready to throw it when she could actually get a clear shot at these 'shadow beasts.' Her eyes, much like Stealth's, darted from tree to tree, trying to follow the shadows. She shifted her weight, ready to sprint when the others did.

Psychosis immediately followed after Shae's advances, where Shae took the beast's attention to the rear, Psy attacked head on, sending out shockwaves that pounded into the beast. The attacks of both co-insided, alternating between frontal and rear attacks, overwhelming the beast enough to push it back.
"Something does not feel right about this, Vanguard."
Psy looked around, he could sense a third presence, but could no pinpoint its location. He continued to speak as he attacked and defended.
"If these beasts are as relentless as you say, why then has this one been merely defensive and not offensive.. could they be merely a diversionary tactic?"

Shae took only half a second to contemplate the Templar's words, and in tha half second, the beast acted to contradict the Templar's sentiments. With a swipe of the beast whip-like tail Shae was sent hurdling through the air, heading dead on for a thick Oak tree's trunk.
From the Void, Syntaru began to bark orders to Tala;
~Why have you not advanced!? Strike now, YOU must be the one to touch the statue in the hall! YOU must reclaim that shard.. it CANNOT FALL INTO THE HANDS OF THE GODDESS!!~

Psychosis tried to move to save Shae from hitting the thick oak tree, but the beast had other plans, it darted infront of him, blocking his path swiping with its claws. It took all of his focus just to dodge the attacks, he had no time to spare to save the vanguard.
"It's near impossible to read these beasts, they react and change so quickly.."
He thought to himself, just before nearly being sliced in half by the beast's talons.

The vampire golumn turned it's head side ways, as though considering the offer. In a lightening fast movement the vampires sand image's jaws opened impossibly wide, gleaming fangs reflecting the noon day sun in the picture portrayed to Robotnik, and a moment later the racoon was with out a head.
The swatbots didn't have time to react as a crimson fountain rained down on their dome like heads. The poor doomed creature fell to it's lifeless knees as blood flowed freely around the feet of the vile overlander. After taking a small lacey hankerchief from his pocket and dabbing the remains of the kill away he cleared his throat and answered his new boss.
"Ah, now that was tasty, fear always seasons the blood suburbly. Though it's infinately more interesting to hunt your meals but my musings are wasted on your mechanical types. I agree to your terms good sir, go to the coordinants that I'm typing into the door pad. Think we have much to discuss."
The golumn walked off in the direction that it's Master was lying in wait in the darkness of a supply hangar rarely used. The camera panned to follow the sandy construct, when it finally returned to the door step Robotnik noticed two things.
The first being that there wasn't a drop anywhere on the ground while there had been gouts of it before. Teh second being, that the headless corpse was no where to be found. If swatbots could be confused, these were, but being machines they simply stood their guard as the sun started it's slow decline on the horrizon.
Meanwhile; Shade noticed the heroes wandering off, and while it's master gave him explicit instructions to aid the Goddess the woman herself was missing. Noting the entrance the temple being relatively unguarded it decided the best way to assist the Goddess or rather Shae was to prevent anybody suspicous from entering and taking what ever was important.
After standing before the entry way Shade melted into the cracks around the entrance. Sometimes the best traps were the kind you couldn't see.
While Syth had his hands full keeping the Goddess' minon from harm, having followed the irrate bat in his persuit of the rampant demons he borewitness to Shae's unfortuitous turn and went to intercept his course with the tree. Swooping down like a bird of prey and over exerting himself, the deathog flurried his cape behind him and tumbled into the brush with the bat.
As a hinderance the cloak melted away and both combatants sprung fromthe underbrush ready for battle.
"A kind reminder my friend, I call dibs on the head of the fool that unleashed these creatures on the relam of the livng."
