Nobility and purpose oozed from this avian, and it was with a grin that Paladin accepted the eagles own admitance to underestimation. So akin to his own nature the deathog was quick to remember this one, and would look back on the Archer again when he had time.
"Aye, twas most humbling, and you deduce correctly. Our Lady has bid us meet in the Grand Hall with the other vanguards. Please hasten there as I will join you shortly after rousing the others.
Nice ficus by the by."
Bowing his leave the deathog dashed out of the attrium towards the fields where Uncle Auggie was no doubt meditating.
Meanwhile;
Through the desert steppe Simmons manuvers through dunes and gulches. The base spans high into the distance, a grey speck on the horizon. Sweat drips from her head as she grips the wheel with pale hands. Muttering again and again as she takes a turn hard with out noticing. "Get to Legion, tell him about the desert, kill self." "Get to Legion, tell him about the desert, kill self." "Get to Legion, tell him about the desert, kill self." "Get to Legion, tell him about the desert, kill self." "Get to Legion, tell him about the desert, kill self. . . . . . ."

Archer nodded to Twilight before the Judicator flew off, he would remember to thank him for the compliment on his prized ficus plant. Archer was pleased with this new Vanguard, despite what he had heard of his past, the hegdehog was a welcome addition to the Court of the Goddess. Dripping the last of his water onto his roses the Eagle spread his wings and flew off to the Palace, arriving to see Naia sitting on a bench. The two nodded to one another and awaited the others. Far out in the wind-blown fields, Augustus was indeed meditating. So deeply that he had begun to levitate slightly above the tall grass.
His concentration however was broken upon hearing the all to familliar hollar:
"Uunnclllle Aaauuuuggiiiiiieee!!!"
The loud shout caused the large bovine to slip out of his trance and crash to the ground with a rather vibratious thud. After standing up and brushing off his robes, shaking his head and snorting some, he walked over to Twilight.
"Must you always do that? No matter how serious the situation at hand was, you always cause a stir with that address.. not that I'm complaining mind you, over the ages I've grown accustomed to it.. so tell me, little Twilight, what is so important you would disturb my meditation, I would've thought you'd be off recooperating after your loss.."

Smiling just a little bit shamefully the normally stoney deathog smiled his fanged smile.
"Eh heh heh heh, well, perhaps some moderation is in store regardless of old times. And I am on an important mission. In spite of the hero wide failure to fight back the tide the Goddess has not given up hope. Our Lady requests all vanguards meet in the Grand Hall to recieve further orders.
I'll be alone shortly after collecting the final three of our kinsmen."

Augustus nodded to Twilight and began to walk off, stopping short though, he turned back around.
"Oh, Twilight, be careful when you find Rayne, the Star Garden can be overwhelming.." said the bovine, walking off again.
And in the afforementioned garden, Rayne was arranging some stars in the night sky, preparing the proper constellations for the coming season. The 'garden' was a rather large black pool, a portal reaching into the universe itself. Rayne using a pair of special gloves to manuver the stars and allign the planets.

After approach Rayne's Realm, the deathog felt something that was akin to vertigo. It seemed like the enormity of the universe was present in that little pool. As if the very circumfrance of existance was summed up with in the inky black portal to which the very heaven's knew their size and shape.
And that was probably because it was.
Closing his one good eye after getting with in speaking distance the deathog called out to the red scaled iguana.
"Master Rayne, I bid ye greetings and well wishes as you go about your heavenly toil. Our lady bids us meet her in the Grand Hall, as she has some plan with which to stave off the encroaching darkness of her infernal brother."
Wobbling backwards away from the tear in eternity, the deathog took his leave with as much dignity as he could muster.

Rayne gave not even so much as a glance to Twilight. The most response given to the heed was a half-nod. Rearranging the Universe itself took quite a bit of concentration after all. With the last planet's orbit shifted and the final star's twinkle adjusted just so, the iguana closed off the portal and took off the ivory gloves of his practice. Placing them in the pockets of his robe he made his way to the Marble Palace.
Inside the Grand Hall, Naia, Augustus and Archer were standing about the well decorated and illustrius hallway. If the Goddess was summoning all of her Vanguards, something big was definately going to happen. It wasn't long before Rayne had arrived, nodding to his fellow Vanguards. With Rayne's presence that left only Aries and Ishillar who were both at the Gates of the Chaos Realm. Aries was tending to a soul who had gotten his directions crossed. Ishillar was just there for the sake of not being alone..
"I'm afraid that you've arrived at the wrong place Mr. Felldwether.. you've far too many wicked deeds to be admited into the paradise of the Chaos Realm.." said Aries to the soul
"Wha' tha's a crock mate! I is s'posed to be 'ere! 'is is an outrage, roight, I am one di'runtled soul I tell ya.. I ain't done tings 'at bad in my loife!" raved the soul
"I assure you there is no mistake.. you MURDERED your own Mother.. she was admitted in, but you, you had best make haste and descend into the Void where your enternal punishment will be shelled out by the demons and fiends.." snipped Aries.
The soul wished no further confrontation, he had clearly seen that Aries was not going to be intimidated by a lower filth such as Ickerus Felldweller. He made the long and lonely descent into the fiery pits of the Void. An eternity of beatings and burnings, vile tortures and things of the like was in his future.. and he deserved it.

Twilight watched the soul slowly fade through the Chaos Realm soil, he recalled not long ago his less than caring treatment of souls. Having finally died himself he could only feel a tinge of sympathy for the depraved creature sinking to his eternal punishment. This was short lived, as matricide is frowned upon on any realm, not just the living one. Touching down and giving Aries a consulting nodd, he begun his message for the final time.
"Miss and Sir, Our Lady has requested that we adjourn to the Great Hall with the vanguards to hear the Goddess' plans on how to best combat Syntaru. With you two and myself all the blessed dominions will be gathered in one place for the first time since my ascension. I beseech you make haste to the hall, as time is growing short and I do not wish to incur Our Lady's wrath so early on in my internship here.
My apologies for a less appropriate introduction Lady Ishillar, but as Lord Chronos decrees, time is of the essence. . ."
After thanking the guiding spirit for showing him the way the deathog vanguard made his own way to the Great Hall. Finally, with all the heavenly bodies gathered Lady Aurora could finally come out with her plans to do battle with the obsidian tides enscorcelling the globe. . .

Meanwhile stealth sat on the bed staring of in the distance as he brooded over the shadows and doubts that the lemur gave in his heart. Oh how he wanted to get back at her. He narrowed his eyes and growled at the thought of that woman. Still though she was right. Even with that fancy sword he let a simple illusion defeat him. Stealth just sighed angrily darkness and doubts welling up in his heat. He stood up and winced as pain shot up his side. He rubbed his wounded shoulder and limped forward. "Like hell will I stay in bed. Not when I have to find a way to get stronger...If Im gonna be a warrior here I gotta stop being weak....I have to get stronger."he muttered to himself limping from the infirmary.
Simon just laughed as the blasts impacted upon the temple walls as he decended deeper into the aceint building his canners keeping an eye out for metalic items and other things that might signal a trap. so it was no surprise when the wolf heard a rumbling. He looked back and saw the floor colasping behind him and heading this way. With a grunt he Bolted forward keeping one step out of the way and leaping the last five feet as the ground vanished under his feet.
"Well well I think that this temple might actualy give me more of a challenge and I sorely need one after that lackluster atempt by that silly hedgekabob."he said with a dark chuckle as he walked down the hall way descending down the stairwell.

Andre said not a word against his master's speech, and he left as soon as he could when dismissed. It would not matter what he said, Syntaru would know where to find him. He would revel the day when others would have a fear of the dark, a fear of encountering one such free spirit like him. Such evil thoughts would be the re-death of him, and once again he had to banish them from the recesses of his mind. Gods, this was hard.
The giant sat himself down in a rocky hallway of the Mountain, crosslegged under his cloak. He began to meditate until Syntaru would need him next, he found no point in pursueing meaningless-for-now goals until he was released of his bonds. Then his real potential could be released. So soon... hopefully.

Myst's ferry had now docked in Westopolis, the city was grand and wonderous. It was raining here, but Myst didn't seem to mind. Weather anomolies never have, this was an advantage of hers. She stepped off the boat and out into the city, her view shifting from tall building to tall building. A very small number of Mobians inhabited Westopolis, the city was primarily an Overlander territory. This is all she knew of the city, which was just the base of the city's purpose. Westopolis acts as the great connector to the other cities on the Western Land. People pass through here en route to Casinopolis, Mobotropolis and Evergreen City. Even Eggman's troops could be seen walking through the city, those that were still around anyway.
Discarded cyborgs and pure robots, it was sad, but Myst was too focussed on her next move to be swayed by the tragedy of these beings. She walked over to a vendor that was selling maps of the city. She gave him what little coins she had left and purchased one of the maps. She continued to walk, scanning the map for her current location. From here she had a ways to go to reach the city's Airbase. She would have to catch a shuttle, transfer in Mobotropolis, and then fly out to Sandopolis where she would have quite a wait before her next shuttle flight. Afterall, it was a private shuttle and the pilot need to make some heavy repairs from his last job. Not many commercial flights out to the Hot Crater Zone, also know as the Eye of the Dark Shadow to her.. and the Eye of the Prophet for the more informed.
She made her way through the city, being silent and solitary. Paying attention to only herself, even though deep in her heart, this place felt familliar, felt right. It felt as if she had been here so long ago.. perhaps this was the place she had been born.. perhaps she was not native to the Ice Cap Zone at all. Of course she already knew that half, being the only hedgehog in a frozen tundra is a dead give away that you aren't from around there. But she had no time to be inquisiting into her past, she had arrived at the Airbase, and made her way throught the various checkpoints before boarding the passenger shuttle. It was breathtaking, a massive machine such as this was able to fly? It was a miracle to her.
The view from inside would be all the more awe-inspiring, flying high above the planet's surface will do that to a gal. It would be only an hour or two before she would arrive in Mobotropolis and transfer shuttle to the Mobian Desert capitol of Sandopolis. Odd that the largest desert on the planet was actually an island. The entire area is covered in sand, rock and very little water save for a few hidden Oasis zones, and, the surrounding waters. If she wasn't in such a state of determination, she would have much more time to enjoy her trip.. getting to travel the world like this. Seeing strange new lands and peoples..
"I'm coming Dark Shadow, I will be there for your fall.. as the scriptures foretell.. then, I will be recompensed.. I harbor such resentment to you for taking the form of my former mentor.. now I suspect you even had something to do with his death.. and fo rthat I will see that you get what you deserve.."

Neither Aries nor Ishillar caught the reference to time, as they did not know this 'Lord Chronos', but they made their way to the Grand Hall despite. Upon arrival they gave their fellow Vanguards a nod and awaited the Goddess. Her full court, save for the betrayer Shae, was assembled for the first time in ages. The doors at the top of the central staircase opened and the Goddess Aurora stepped forth, she had taken on her Echdina form. The most common representation of her being.
She stepped down to the Hall floor, her Vanguards standing at attention in a semi-circle around her. The seven of them equally curious as to what the Goddess' was planning, and why it would recquire all seven of them. Curiosities aside they waited patiently for Aurora to speak.
"Vanguards, my most loyal of followers. Those that carry out the celestial duties of our domain. You are the strongest, the most knowledged, and the most privellaged of all the devout in my light.. as I am sure you all know by now, nearly all the warriors of the Earthly realm have failed their tasks.. I feel that it was inexperience on some parts and overwhelming odds on others.. but none the less it calls for more drastic measures.." said the Goddess, pausing a moment "I am calling for Celestius Nova.. the last resort tactic of our cause.. as most of your are unfamilliar with this, Rayne, I will ask you to explain.."
Rayne nodded his head and stepped out beside the Goddess, looking into the eyes of his fellow Vanguards he took a deep breath and spoke.
"Celestius Nova.. is a tactic which calls for us to forgo certain aspects of our sworn duties and values.. it is enacted in a time of dire need.. and has not been used since.. well, since the Star Children served as our Lady's Vanguard.. Celestius Nova is an all out assault on whatever force is opposing us.. and as the force is Syntaru, this tactic is our best hope.. it is a charge for us to act without mercy, without remorse.. for us to strike into the pit of the darkness and obliterate it.. in the first use.. the tactic ended the corporeal existence of the other Star Children.. but I doubt such a scenario will occur again, as you who were of the mortal coil showed much more room for power and potential as Vanguards.. it is your adaptivity that makes it so.." said the sage iguana.
He stepped back in line and the Goddess spoke once more.
"I know that you all hold mixed feelings about using such a drastic method, but we are dealing with a force that could very well end existence as we know it.. despite my power.. I was barely able to defeat my Brother the first time.. which is why I imprisoned him instead and shattered his SoulGem.. but he is quickly regaining that Gem.. and if he regains the whole of it, he would become virtually unstoppable.. We shall see how the Koala and the Dhole fair.. but no matter their result.. Celestius Nova will be set in place.. when the mortal warriors return.. I will assign your respective goals.. you are free to return to your tasks, my children.." said the Goddess, turning back to walk up the stairs and into her chambers.
The Vanguards all looked at one another, nodded and returned to their posts despit ethe feelings of dread in their hearts.

Having no station as of yet, Paladin Twilight lagged behind. Hailing the goddess before she disapeared the deathog went to one knee and asked his question.
"M'lady, in your explaination of this tactic. . .there was a time in history where thousands upon thousands of souls careened into the Zone Between Zones. The mess took weeks to sort out. . .we had no communication from the factions of light or darkness. I can't help but dread such a wholesale show of power would wreak havoc on the Living World.
My other conscern is that as vanguards for this particular technique, we would have to forego some of our aspects or dominions. I. . . .have no realm in which to offer save that the taking of life. What do you have in mind for me, Lady Aurora?"

Kuri continued running, not really paying attention to the fact that none of the other traps were going off. When Kuri found herself herded into the grand hall, however, she took a moment to look around. The hall was spacious, and standing tall inside the middle of the room was a large carbon statue.
Curiousity bubbled within her, what exactly could such a thing be for?, but the dhole couldn't bother herself with it. She had a gem to find. So, she started looking around, starting at the hall's outer walls and moving inwards. "Where in the world is that gem..." she muttered to herself, rubbing the back of her head in an exasperated manner.
